Yo toco el piano y soy maestro de música de secundaria y fomento al amor a la música mexicana. Manuel M. Ponce es mí carta fuerte y lo defenderé porque, él es...el mejor. Es mi ídolo y mi Dios musical.

Orgullo mexicano!! Es un honor escuchar a Manuel M. Ponce. Esta pieza siempre me ha cautivado muchísimo desde que soy niña, se la escuchaba a mi mamá. Y ahora ya mayor, la voy a tocar. Eso intentaré. Saludos desde México.

Esta obra me cautivó durante muchísimo tiempo. Si bien mi profesora me la dio en mis primeras clases de piano, recién algunos años después pude tocarla como corresponde (o al menos lo intenté). Es hermosa y no tan conocida. Gracias por compartirla!

I m glad there are so many Ponce admirers like me, Proud Mexicans. I've played this piece many years, I play it at slower tempo more rubsto . it s an evocative piece. Melancholy, pensive delicate piece. That is my choice The Maestro from Fresnillo would be glad to know we are enjoying his music. My best wishes, Jose

la partitura es de una orquestra con varios intrumentos, spartito es solo por uno strumento, en este caso es por el gran piano. perdoname por los errores de gramatica

Alguien que pueda tocar esta obra podría decirme que tan difícil es técnicamente? Actualmente puedo tocar algunas invenciones a 3 de Bach y la sonata K545 de Mozart, estaré al nivel o aún me falta? Es que la partitura de esta obra la veo un poco mas difícil.

This is the adequated tempo to play it, and i say it because i am from México and because i am music composer and pianist. So i know what i am talking about, also jorge Federico osorio is one of the best pianists in our country, besides silvia navarrete and gustavo rivero weber he has great experience about Manuel M. Ponce's piano works, so he knows perfectly what is he doing. Don't talk about mexican music if you don't know, and well actually is not a gavotte, it's an intermezzo. With troubles in his structure because he tries to write it as an intermezzo alla maniera di rondó, very complicate because he copies Lully's gavotte structure and then things doesn't goes very well. He needs more development for his theme Not to repeat it so much, R.

Such a pretty piece ... BUT, a "gavota"? this is really NOT a gavotte/gavota although in 4/4 ... the BEST title should be something like "Staring at America My Dream Land from Rio Grande" ... now that fits the chopinesque dreamy nature of this piece ... too bad Ponce is dead already to change this title ;(

@filsuf your opinion does not matter. Two different compositions from ponce gavota and gavotte. Ponce knew what he was doing..he spend years in france
