He’s told jokes on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Comedy Central, Netflix’s Bonding, Don’t Tell, The Real Housewives of New York for some reason, and he was a JFL New Face in 2022. He’s acted in Billy Crystal’s Here Today, Hustlers, The Last OG, and in his theater days shared the stage with some people who’ve gone on to become huge real estate agents. I'm an extremely queer, pretty damn autistic person- PLEASE ALWAYS CALL OUT PEOPLE ON THEIR BULLSHIT EVEN IF THEY HAVE AUTISM!!! So many people use their autism as an excuse to treat other people horribly without apology. It's not the same at all as someone who cannot identify immediately what they said was wrong and then is apologetic when they learn why it was wrong/hurtful. It is also not the same as someone who can't combine the thread between being autistic and behaving/interacting in a way not conducive to the environment (my cousin is like this, but I'm pretty sure he can't tell he's different in any way). Folks who pull out the "well, I'm autistic!" card when they essentially misbehave are horrendous and even more so the people who pull that card out FOR them.

Four months late to agree with you completely. As much as I try, I can and will miss things or accidentally hurt people because there's something I haven't accurately read, *but that doesn't lessen the damage.* I would always, always rather be called out so I can apologize and not do it again or fix my behavior then have others assume lack of malice means it's not fair for them to be hurt. Good intentions only matter so much. Furthermore, while I do think it's fair to explain why you did something wrong (I always prefer an apology that tells me why I was hurt to a 'sincere' apology that's just saying sorry), no explanation can truly absolve guilt for someone's pain.

Yeah I really appreciate Russ 50:17 like I’m autistic and it’s just another neurotype. Treat us like normal people because we are? Autistic adults can be assholes too and should be treated as such and held accountable. Ugh this conversation made me so uncomfortable and I’m glad Russ has some sense

And it’s just so weird because Giann Marco has ADHD and the two neurotypes are very similar and about 70% of autistic people are adhd too. Like you’re one of us? You and that guy in the crowd are both neurodivergent and have more in common neurologically than different. Really hate how even people with ADHD infantilize autistic adults.

I assumed his hesitation was partly also to do with being at a community centre and the show needing to be more family/kid/elder-friendly than a club show. Although I still don't think he couldn't clap back on the guy.. Maybe he just needs to prep some suitably non-offensive shutdown lines that won't get him in trouble with the venue if he needs to take out a heckle, homophobe/other dick..? But yeah, you can be ND and a shit person, or physically disabled (like me) and a dick, and it does noone any favours to patronise us if we're being wrong/hateful.
