The Mary is a gay icon mini discussion was SENDING me! 🤣🤣🤣 Also, about the Magdalene bit - she's actually never mentioned directly as a pr*stitute in the Bible. However, her introduction happens immediately after another anecdote that does revolve around a pr*stitute and hence, she got stuck with that label. Another explanation could be that as a female follower of Jesus, she got labelled as a wh*re for roaming with a group of thirteen men. Thanks for attending my Ted Talk.

Also we need to consider the era as well. Good women were subservient to men and men are the one support the women. So Mary came to Jesus bringing something expensive makes people wonder how she makes a living without husband. In conclusion, Mary is victim of gossips 😅

Do you know when you watch two people that you adore, but they just make such a balls of something that it ends up being hysterical? As a history teacher and scholar of religious studies (amongst other things), this episode is an example of that...and I laughed my head off even more than Matteo did at some of the statements (not to mention glances!) of Nick in this video. ;) If you would like a little history lesson at some point, let me know--I'd be happy to put something together for you both!
