There's a GL documentary some GLs made some years ago discussing the history u may be interested in viewing, Chicago had many more predominantly white Gangs and even some of the predominantly Latino Gangs today were originally predominantly white, but when talking about white Gangs in Chicago and greater Chicago the Gangs that come to mind are Simon City Royals who are now the fastest growing gang in Mississippi, the Southside Insane Popes who were mostly Slavic, Northside Insane Popes were mostly Greek, The Insane C-Notes who were mostly Italian, The Jousters lot of white Americans , the Playboys who had alot of Polish, The 12 st players of Cicero Italian and Slavic, the Insane Deuces always had a high percentage of white membership, good number of Irish from the merger, two Gangs merged to form the Deuces, the 22 Boys in Cicero had a good number of white members, now for the predominantly Mexican gangs, the Ambrose originally had alot of Italians, the Saints of 45th originally mainly Polish and some Mexicans, the Satan Disciples mostly Czech and some Mexicans

If you ever get the chance see if you can pickup a copy of the book Lords of Lawndale and the sequel Lords of Kilbourn. If you cannot find them, there's also a couple variants that are basically trimmed down versions; Great American Youth and Gaylords of Kilbourn, respectively. They're all excellent reads and were written by a ranking GL who documented what it took to survive on Chicago streets.

I'm a chicago GL. We've always been a mostly white gang but have always had non white membership throughout the years. Mostly an American turf gang that looks out for the neighborhood. Not nearly as large as once before but still in Chicago and several other cities non the less!

You... are right about that my brother, because I do remember in the back 80's they were very crazy those white gangsters with a real big gun, and they are still here only in the north side of city neighborhood's with a few of surenos but they don't can make it because we have our own gangster crazy Chicago style!!!

There was more then just Gaylords that were white gangs,there were Popes,Royals, Stone Freaks,Jousters,ect,C Notes, which was mostly Italian. My 2 uncles were GLz back in the late 70s,and 80s, and the rest of my family were C Notes. I grew up in a mostly latino neighborhood, so I ended up flipping one of the mobs,they talk about on that Gangland episode your talking about. That episode was about MLDz, but they were never 100 percent white,there was Afew guys that grew up in GL neighborhoods that were latino, and became Gaylords, same as Royals. The Royals were the 3rd biggest mob in Chicago in the 90s,thats when they started letting all races in there mob. But when I was a kid in the 80s,and would stay the weekend at my nanas place, thats when my uncles would take me to the park, which was full of Gaylords, and was actually a culture shock to me,because like I said I was the only white boy, in my neighborhood were I grew up,and was use to see all latino and black mobs.
