The new minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie & Solly Malatsi, the minister of Communications and Digital Technologies have met with the SABC and eMedia to discuss returning national team sports to Free-To-Air TV

This comes at a massive cost... it is probably about 12K+ per annum for this few to be able to watch. Much of this is what actually funds DSTV... I think my wife only has it for F1....

DSTV must go. I pay my TV licence but I cannot watch any sport because of DSTV and people who is doing things unknowingly to pay for things we should have for free in SA.

Nothing in life is for free brother. Do you have any idea how much money DSTV pays to support sports institutions. Sabc does not do that and cannot do that, hence sport is mostly on DSTV, simply needs to be more affordable, that is the issue, dstv is to expensive.

Multichoice must buy rights from SABC,thank you minister,love you,wish we could bring back boxing soon after soccer /rugby games end on a weekend as it used to be,boxing is also a national sport I can't recall how many world champions we produced as a country.Multichoice monopoly over national sports must end.Viva Minister Mc Kenzie.

Another issue is that people without dstv tend to go watch in taverns where it's always a risk of getting into a fight I experienced this alot so I know what I'm talking about

Thanks Gayton, DSTV has monopolised the broadcasting industry in such a way that they dictate what happens. The streaming services available coupled with a good ISP has brought them to their knees and now they are struggling. While they are on their knees the pressure must be applied and i think Gayton is doing a fine job of it. We pay TV licenses already so it is our right. Abahambe DSTV. 😂

I've always wanted to watch sports on DStv, but the only problem was that our package didn't have the SuperSport channels. Multichoice stakeholders are going to go bezerk after watching this. 😂
