Hitting the throat basically creates a solid distinction between notes. It can also give it a stutter/glitchy effect. Fast beats are usually refered to as technicality. 21:20 - Just to clarify, hitting the throat only pronounces the break of sounds in a beat. In this specific example MB14 is seen going from a low note to high note by tapping his throat. Also yes you can transition notes without tapping your throat but it's much cleaner to do the former. 23:10 - Generally known as drum and bass but Helium is one of the best at it. Yes, you'll be able to pick up on things and recognize them when you hear them. If you stay in it long enough, you'll be able to recognize these guys just by hearing them. They can make the same sounds, but they'll sound different. (If that makes sense). Audical has since changed his name to Vocodah. I have no doubt people have been telling you about him.

Two H's wildcard might not seem like much to someone who doesn't know what's going on, like sure, he grooves, but what makes him special? Basically during 95% of his wildcard, any vocals that you heard were two voices at the same time, at different notes. It's called a polyphonic/double voice and that's what makes him stick out a bit more as soon as you know what to listen for

Helium's routine is considered to be part of drum n base genre. As well as some d low's routines. Drum n base is an actual music genre and is constructed with just percussion, base and sometimes a leading voice. It's a very commonly used genre in beatboxing, as it's a very good way to show your rhythm consistency and precision in breathing and structural techniques.

Beatboxing takes so much practice (for things to start sounding very good) and everybodys body is a little different in terms of the range/sounds they can make, that it kinda requires everybody to develop their own style over time. As beginners we all copy others, though.

I get what you mean about feeling it. I think about rhythmn almost like the people who can see colors when they hear sounds or something but instead I feel the patterns creating some sort of “inner movement picture” where I can “see the flow”

Trung Bao had the highest ranked wildcard in 2020. Unfortunately, he had a nagging nose problem and had to undergo surgery a few months ago, which limited his ability to practice and perform greatly. Thankfully, he's had a good recovery, and we hope to see good things from him come GBB!

I prefer Audical as well. But there are 10 different categories that can give you points and they win by scoring the best they can. Sometimes the wildcard slaps but it misses points for not being technical or something. Perfect example Den’s wildcard You should check Audical Gbb 2019 (You can win 2 times.Dlow participated in 2018 and 2019 and sbx kickback)
