While I can appreciate where we came from we shouldn't cover up the fact that after Sir. Jack and Sir. George passed on....no one with the vision of Wallace, Jack and George has taken over! Whoever is in charge now I feel they are comfortable with the certain way it is! Notice no one calls Freeport "the magic city" anymore! But I believe it still is cause Freeport hotel industry has disappeared and businesses have vanished and downtown is gone!

Great video, but you truly need to focus on getting the Princess property and the once thriving International Bazaar up and running once again.

I concur the leadership at the port authority has not been to attract any major investors to the island for nearly 20 years as a matter of fact it's like the port act's to maintain the status quo and rest on its crumbling laurel's

GBI is a boulevard of broken dreams. in 1968, GBI was booming and a friends late father bought land in both Palm Beach, FL and GBI to build his future retirement properties. Palm Beach land was developed and on his passing in 2014 worth $2.6M. The land in GBI is basically worthless and was never developed because the promised infrastructure never materialized.

It's a shame that Freeport has fallen into ruin. Why do you think that happened?

I visited Freeport and found the LOCALS rude and ignorant. Happy to see the place in ruin. Since then I vacation in Mexico and Cuba where I am treated well and feel welcome.

I have been to Freeport 8 times in the past 10 yrs including 2023. I don't know where you have been, but I find the people very nice and friendly. That is why my sisters and I have returned year after year. And we are used to Minnesota nice. If you return, I hope you have a better experience.

I am sure you mean well, but the pain from the manner in which the locals treated me still lingers and hurts. Now I go the Spanish speaking countries like Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Belize Guatemala, Venezuela (in 1985, not now), and just got back from Cuba yesterday. I will NEVER go back to Freeport or any "similar" island.
Is Freeport Bahamas worth visiting? What is there to do?
