Playing for England and Saracens...Farrell has had more 💩 thrown at him than any other player I've seen in my lifetime...from both domestic and International fans...and hes kept his own counsel throughout it all. I dont blame him one bit for taking a break from England rugby...and even all rugby in England if that's what he and his family need. And whether he returns to England or not is really irrelevant. He's done more than enough for his country.

Spot on. It’s been a embarrassment for the sport and country what he’s had to endure from uneducated bellends. Good luck to him he’s a English rugby legend

If the Bronze Final against Argentina proves to be his final international game, he went out with a bang. Perfect from the tee, led from the front, finished with a Bronze Medal. He's been England's best player since Wilkinson and he more than deserves to do whatever is best for him and his family.

Its well known amongst the players that Farrell didn't agree with the netflix docuseries and the access and attention it would bring . That was his main decision process when deciding to step away from England . Moving to France is what all the top players do to cash in for a couple years before retirement . Theres no story here . Farrell hasn't been bullied out , he's a northerner he don't give af what people like Hask think .

I think it's way more likely he does 2-3 years in France and comes back for the world cup. Barring any injuries that will really mold him into his final form. World class flyhalf's seem to fully mature in their early to mid 30's (experience and tactical knowledge I'd assume) and 2 years in France will really test him against a myriad of opposition and combinations not found in the Prem. Who knows maybe England will have a new law soon for experienced players to play oversees? Would be VERY surprised if he's not leading England in the next world cup. Mans just needs a break from the norm my god he's earned it.

You three are brilliant and although I like listening to Mike Tindall it was a refreshing change to hear from Jonny May as someone who is still in the thick of the action. England has so little depth in vital positions as the same players are picked again and again. Farrell in France would force Saracens to find someone new and that can only benefit the English game. This is why the Boks can change their entire scrum and not lose any performance level.
@mikec25056 ай бұрын
What, like George Ford, Marcus Smith, you mean? And Jamie Shilcock at Tigers and Fin Smith at Saints? Seems quite a lot a depth to me. And there’s also Joe Simmonds as when if he comes back. It’s one position that we do actually have strength and depth in, but even with Owen gone they’ve got to get past the first two I mentioned.
@williamharrison18856 ай бұрын
@mikec2505 and those two you mentioned have to get past owen farrell.... and not based on form. So I think it will be good for England with owen in france.

Let’s just hope he’s 100% aware of the abuse he’ll receive from French supporters all over the country… he’s embodied what we call a ‘tête à claques’ for some years and R92 is probably one of the most despised clubs (because of its owner and of the inexistence of fan base). It won’t be an easy ride! (Please note that I’m by no mean condoning any form of abuse!)

I just dont see how the Racing team suits Farrell as a player, when you think about the types of fly halves they have he doesn't fit the profile of Russell or Carter or Sexton. And as a Quins fan all the fandom knew full well how much they were circling around Smith before he signed an extension; which leads me to think this could be a ploy from Racing to pressure Smith.
@patrickchilds2987Ай бұрын
Racing now us a different team to when Russell , Sexton and further back Carter, DifferentSquads and coaches . Lancaster is coach and he sees Farrell as the #10 he needs. Good luck to him

Saracens can only have 1 marquee player, yes, so either OF or MO, one will be lost to England me thinks.
@julianfoster40156 ай бұрын
Why pronounce "Racing" like a Frenchman and then 92 in English -it's quatre-vingt douze in French.
@jlm44556 ай бұрын
Farrell isn't going to change who he is all of a sudden. He is simply not good enough to play any other way. His best hope if he goes to France to get behind a huge pack. Sexton btw went to Racing and flopped hard. He could not deal with expectations and cultural differences. Racing currently had a so so pack and no they're not filled with stars. Most of those have moved on and the few that remain? Are not playing well, Fickou has had a poor season for example. Arundel is ok but has shown nothing to merit star status. Kolisi is about it. Their 9 (Le Garrec) has a chance to be a star but he is still desperately inconsistent.
@bm87256 ай бұрын
You are aware that Racing 92 has denied any negotiations taking place 2 days ago.
@Aerosonic100016 ай бұрын
You’re asking if others are aware, clearly you are unaware of the true story, yes they have denied that anything has been agreed and signed, but Racing 92 refused to comment on whether any negotiations have taken place. There is more substance to this than you are giving it credit for.
@bm87256 ай бұрын

@jakeclough80906 ай бұрын
@@bm8725yeah that’s the one thing I don’t get 😂 the french fans will be just as bad as English, probably worse because Farrell has been the enemy for years and unless he wins with racing and is their best player, he will get so much flack. At least they’re writing it in a language he might not know so well though 😂
@randyschwaggins6 ай бұрын
Probably because they haven't been given permission by Saracens to talk to the player. Happens all the time.
@mabsbry13186 ай бұрын
So it’s ok for Russell to play there but not Farrell? Leave him alone, it’s a good rugby country, weather’s better, salary will be better, and he, along with all other Racing no 10’s of past, can mask in this recognised highest position in rugby. That’s Racing No 10….

Not quite sure why you are all certain he will make a good coach (based on what exactly?!), I am personally not convinced one bit. Fantastic player, but leaves a LOT to be desired as a captain, and I do not think he will make a great coach, not with modern rugby... 15/20 years ago sure, but rugby has moved on so much, I don't think Farrel will be a good coach unfortunately

He literally coaches already and drives the squad as such. Every team be it lions, Saracens or England, each head coach has said as much. Chris Robshaw.. lovely guy. We didn’t win much with him as cap. Dylan Hartley, on the field a nasty bastard.. we won and won.
@Battosai846 ай бұрын
@@Alex-mj5dv well, I look forward to the day he decides to go into coaching, and hope he does at least half as well as his dad. I just haven't actually seen anything or heard him talk rugby which makes me think he'll be a great coach. Pundits always go on about how X player would make a great coach, but never give a proper explanation why. Similar to football pundits, who couldn't identify a coach to save their lives (albeit from what I've seen, elite rugby players make farrrr better coaches than footballers)
