@luksurias last year, Tadej was coming back off a broken wrist. I think most people knew he was also undercooked. Just hoping next year both are fully fit. Visma's team also weaker without Sepp. Wout also doesn't seem to be firing on all cylinders. UAE much stronger this year

Visma thought, that hot day in mountains may be a little bit weakness for Tadej, but the last climb was absolutely amazing, Jonas did his best, but it was not enough. This day I will remember for long time, best day in world cycling I have ever seen. Big applause for Tadej, Jonas and Remco. They are superheroes.

Jonas did most of the work for Tadej today. He was brave enough to do the attack, he had to try, but in the end that wasn’t the smartest move as Tadej was “resting” in his wheel during most of that last climb. It’s not over yet though. Congratulations to these two amazing athletes for giving us such an epic fight.

@@Mememeep agreed. I recall he lost 5 minutes at one point in Col de la Loze because he bonked. I can see that they are doing everything for him to make him as comfortable and as fueled as they could, team mates were giving him water bottles to control his body temp and he was constantly feeding but this late in the race, your immune system is shot so it's easy to get anything from the peloton specially when a couple of them already have Covid.

Vingegaard had to try it, not much risk with Evenepoel dropping. But that must have been a sickening feeling when he attacked, and Pogacar didn't even have to get out of the saddle to stay with him.

Looking at the performances of yesterday raises serious concerns. Beating an ever clean Marco Pantani record by over 3 minutes must be because of better Nutrition, it cannot be anything else. I have been watching cycling for 30 years, and not once, a miracle was true. Now that said, Jonas riding at this level after such an injury, oh god would have have destroyed everyone in this edition of the tour wouldn't he had the fall. However, it is the way it is. PS: But one thing is good, at least People won't be talking about Remco being a contender in the future lmao

As Pogacar said “I don’t know how Pantani rode back in the day, that’s almost now 30 years ago,” Pogačar said in the press conference truck afterwards. “But today Visma set a super, super strong pace from the beginning and then Jonas did most of the work until my attack. Then I pushed my limit. I’m just super happy to take the win and I’m not thinking about the Strava segment.” He wasn’t doing the work until he jumped Jonas.

Except they did it themselves. Visma pushed hard all day and on the last climb. Jonas went and Tadej followed, letting f him doing all the work. He said he was on the limit when he got on Jonas’ wheel. Then he recovered following. When Jonas then tried to drop Tadej he couldn’t and exhausted himself and so Pog just buried himself and went. Not like Lance riding away from everyone from halfway up the climb. 😊

Boring tour - Jonas shouldn't even be riding in this - more impressive after after a major crash punctured lung, no racing for months and still be second. Yes , Pogi did what he must ! After he was taking a peak at the dane and so that his rival is wasted he did what some of us would him to do : to show WHO"S THE REAL CHAMPION ! And he is ! After all , no one made vingegaard fall in that spanish race , he did it for himself and no one asked or forced him to be in the Tour . @@Elu_ahah Last year when Pogacar was injured and... That doesn't count. After today's stage Jorgensen (Vignegaard's teammate) said that Pogacar is the BEST. Vignegaard's teammate said that, not some Pogacar fan. I guess a professional cyclist knows better than you. You tried to be smart but you failed.

@@lukarus4998 because i am hoping that these autophagy children will do something memorable. Name one exceptional stage in the last 5 to 6 years that would make it into the top ten of the TDF without consulting google. Heres a few comparisons Lemonds TT with tri bars 86, Roche and Delgado on La Plagne 87, Pantanis assault on the Alpe in 1997, Armstrong controversial but always exciting, Big Mig, need I go on now we have kids who starve themselves for marginal gains hiding behind a team that is expendable. For pity’s sake Jonas Vingegaard is 128lbs and looks like a holocaust survivor. No wonder the crowds are smaller.

@@nomdaploom marginal gains, reducing these autophagy children to mere muscles hiding behind two or three teams with huge finances that bludgeon the weaker opposition to death has caused the teams and riders and organizers to forget what TDF is all about. The RACING.

@@galloglas6907 The Tour de France is above all about money, as is any popular sport that appeals to hundreds of millions of people across the world. If you don't like what the TDF has become, find another sporting event more suited to your tastes. No one's interested in your whining about what you perceive were the good old days. Just move on and get a life of your own. Then maybe you won't be so bored?

A. Pogi is currently the best cyclist. Someone has to occupy that spot. B. Vingegaard was badly injured, recently, and short on race days C. Remco has never been as good of a climber as the other two. The current podium is perfectly logical.
