The GC3 is worth the money and using GSPRO you get so many courses it's incredible. Glad that I upgraded.

I always knew the ST was limited when I saw a youtube video of "Beef" swinging full out at a drive and the ST on the screen showed "107 mph". Ahh sure... more like 127 would have been more like it. So I decided that day to upgrade to something that could handle driver speeds over 90 mph.

I agree I have used alto and I am very happy with the GC Quad, only reason I bought a trackman also was for the Optimizer

Why the quad over GC3? We’re the few data points the quad gives you that the GC3 doesn’t that necessary? Trying to decide between the two for me. Not a club fitter. Just want to practice and play on a simulator. Thanks.

The question about a desktop vs a laptop? With Foresight their recommendation has to do very much with the graphics card. When you put a high powered graphics card in a laptop the cooling mechanism isn't as good as the tower in a desktop. You can outfit a boatload of fans to reduce the heat in a tower and in a laptop that isn't possible obviously. But that's the anal point of view because laptops are holding their own for launch monitor use. We aren't challenging the CPU as much with Launch monitor use vs First Person Gaming. However you need a good graphics card for video display purposes and the clarity and sharpness in landscapes as you chase your ball onto the green keeping all the surrounding environment to be as smooth as a babys butt. So if you have to have the waves crashing and tree swaying with perfect video image of rain or windy situations you want a desktop. However I get that smooth transition no minefield artifacting with my laptop an MSI GE76 17" i7 10 gen with RTX3060 graphics card purchased from Costco for $1200. The RTX3060 is not recommended by Foresight but I know its definitely equal to or better than their recommended graphics cards because Foresights recommended graphics cards are pretty ancient and doesn't reflect the newer more advanced graphic cards going into the newer laptops. And the reason why I was comfortable going with the MSI GE76 is Discount Pro Golf has the same laptop for their GCQuads x3 and I saw the video display to be a perfectly acceptable projection to a 10x10 impact screen. As usual do your research I'm just an amateur nobody with an opinion.

Yes, it's a Dell Gaming Laptop. If you decide to go with a big name laptop like HP or Dell just get on chat and let them know what you need and I'm sure they can set you up with a nice gaming machine that will give 4K. Be sure to pay the money for a 4K projector... it's sooooo worth it!!

I use an hdmi cable only for the projector. I use the thunderbolt port on my computer to connect to the GC3. Hope the clarifies. It works perfectly with almost no lag.

Yes, but only if you even slightly "chunk" it. If you pick it right off the artificial turf you get better distances. Not sure why...

@@BlackjackCZ My Carl's place enclosure is incredible and works perfectly. Remember that if you get bounce back from the screen just undo or loosen a few of the small bungees and it will be fine.

That's a BIG yes. It give you the path angle the ball. So you will then know if you are coming say 7 degrees outside to in you can adjust and hopefully fix. You can also hook up your phone to take videos of your swing from behind and from the side using the fsx 2020 software. Incredible. I am a 2 hcp and it's helped me with path angle on my driver for sure.

It has improved my game for sure. It's nice to hit balls on a range but with this system I can get feedback on the real carry distances of my irons and work on getting the best shaft etc. for my driver. I have made some swing changes based on the feedback that I would have never considered with out it.

I use GSPRO now and it works perfectly using wifi. I suggest you get a google mesh to extend your wifi as it should help.

I would go with the Launch Pro which is identical to the gc3. As a 2 hdcp golfer it will give you EVERYTHING you need for a home golf sim. Quad is simply amazing but I feel it is designed for PGA level players and their needs along with commercial establishments. Besides, I can assure you my GC3 and the new FSX Play are absolutely incredible!!

jim Kramer of your from Canada you won't be able to use the Bushnell launch pro . unless you have your VPN routed to the USA . I looked into this option also

The cost of the GC3 is about $10,000 Cdn with lifetime fsx play and fsx 2020. The computer is about $1500, projector $1800, screen/enclosure $1500 and the mats about $1000.

No, I think it must be connected to wifi for the license to be validated for the software to run.

I project in 4K direct from my computer screen. It covers left/right and there is a space top/bottom. Very clear image and works great!

@@worldprofit watched another video that uses the video card to resize the image to fit your screen, without stretching or cutting off edges etc. Worth looking into that and you'll fill the screen. Essentially with yours, you zoom with the proje toe to get the right hight, then it would bring the sides in, while retaining the picture. That was a different sim though, but should work.

It works fine for me but I do have google mesh which gives me incredible wifi so the gc3 works very fast with almost no lag. I use my thunderbolt port though since it's just easier in the garage but like I said wifi does work fine.

@@spongeworthy7752 No, the gc3 has it's own connection to the internet via your wifi in your home. The laptop can connect to it on the same wifi if you like or via the usb c.
