With companies making lighter and lighter wheels these wheels are for sure at the top of the list in the Main stream Cycling industry in terms of Weight, quality, Rim Depths, and Hub Choices. They nailed this depth of a weight and i am seeing more and more people go for a middle of the road depth wheel that can handle it all and doesn't matter what you encounter while riding on the road.

@@ohadrefael42I can't help on bontrager but wanted to say my aim for my trek Emonda ALR is to build 45s and 88s so depends what I do (45s as roughly with tyre be about half 88s with tyre, though might check later, sort of wanted tyre and rim depth to be half total when on 88)

This just shows how good the CRW wheels are. The 45mm tires are 1600 and lighter than these with better aerodynamic for a 28mm tyre

Sick wheels for anyone who can justify the cost in their budget. A nice affordable similarly spec’d wheels are the Drive 50D for a small fraction of the cost. I’ve put over 5,000 KM on the 50D and they’re beauties.

Have had a 50Ds strapped to my aethos since day 1. Not my “best” wheel in any particular category, but it just works and it’s cheap so couldn’t ask for more as well.

Luv 🥰 your videos GCP (keep doing what you're doing 👌🙂) So the Craft Racing Works CS5055 (which I know you like 😉) are a bit deeper (so likely as/more aero), same 21/29mm Int/Ext Rim width and are reputedly 30g lighter at 1250g (the CS4045 are meant to be even lighter still at 1180g!!)... all of this for $1680 USD (shipped from China through the reputable PandaPodium). I guess you make much better margin and can get much better support from the Princeton wheels... so I totally get while you would appreciate them! But I know which I'm going to be ordering next month (hint: it's not the ones that cost $3100-4500👍😀)

I don't think wavy rim are worth it so I could pick to build a 45mm depth for $1700 (DT Swiss 180 hubs) or 50mm depth for $2060 (same hubs as these wheels) and either way be lighter, so know that is full wheelset too

@@mlee6050I don’t think cycling is about buying stuff that is “worth it”. It’s a luxury sport after all; you buy stuff that just makes you happy. I mean, performance to cost doesn’t matter when as non TDF riders, pretending to discriminate using performance matters is just sad 😅

When this showed my brain read ikea lol, nice, I was looking at 1271g but that was before he showed these, same hubs then might have 1171g which I guess okay for 45 depth, these channels are awful for that, I was looking at dt swiss 180 before as more reliable than extra lite with single pawl

@mlee6050 dt Swiss don't really wear out as it's a ratchet system with a minimum of 32 teeth. As for ceramic bearings, they're overrated, but companies include them because they help sell the product. If the bearing race was also ceramic it would be different.

@@rg807 I been tempted to go ceramic bearing to see if allow me to coast further but other than that yeah, races ceramic be good too if on track as smooth but British roads aren't as smooth Partly on trek Emonda and velomobile hope that coast longer, trek Emonda as in hold aero longer without pedal and velomobile get to relax more

GC get in contact with farsports after Chinese New Year and have them send you there Hyper wheelset with their hub RD07 I believe. I have the 50mm version and got them for 800 and weigh 1218g with tape. To me these are the best wheelset available for the money. In todays economy people want bang for their buck

They look more refined for sure, but I'm surprised they didn't also adopt carbon spokes by default. All in all, I wouldn't have minded them to be a little wider, but the price makes it a no go in any case lol.

The same thing that you consider a perk is also the main reason these are so hard to stock as a bike shop--too many SKU options. After you consider all of the different hub options, rim depths, decal colors, glossy or matte, there are about 100 different SKU's to choose from and the customer always wants the option that you don't have. MOST customers don't actually know what they want, but they definitely want what they can't--and you don't--have (but can special order it until they see a new KZfaq video for something else and cancel).

Apparently it is stall, the air turbulence let's it go a bit at a time and not all at once on constant depth based on side wind so be more stable I don't believe it though so I'm looking to maybe grab these hubs then constant rims with berd spokes

What I was referring to was primarily in cross winds the stability is improved, in large gusts of wind the sudden slapping of the wind is diffused. In direct head winds they just seem to hold speed a tad better. @@marcinstyle85

they are amazing, honestly one of the best companies when coming to warranty, I jsut had a customer with a ton of broken nipples on his wheel that he had for about a year and half and I for sure think it was from neglect of maintaince on his end but the company warranty the whole wheels for rebuild free of charge no other company would do that for corrosion

@@GCPerformance18 I've heard from multiple different wheel manufactures that Ammonia based tubeless tire sealants will cause brass rim nipples to corrode. However, with this Princeton 4550 it would not be a problem because the rim bed is completely sealed off from the nipples and sealant can't leak through to the nipples.

Sad thing my whole motorcycle cost 3k more than this wheelset. Yep it is nice. Yep it is light. But my whole cafe racer RE 650 is less double the price. Some things are for if you are fast enough someone gives them to ya. Train hard maybe they will be free.

Personally I don't like the shape of these wheels. I run elite drive wheels 50mm deep and 21mm wide. With valves and rim tape the pair weigh only 1260 grams. They feel really fast yet compliant and cost under $1000.00 with a discount code.

Getting the weight that low with steel spokes, clear coat, and hooked is impressive. Carbon spoked wheel weight is kind of cheating as carbon spokes reduce weight where it doesn’t reallly matter. They typically save about 100+g per wheelset in the spoke area. Rim weight is what matters I wish companies would advertise that weight in addition to the total wheel weight.

Tons of tires have already spontaneously and dangerously blown off Zipp 353 NSW because of the rim being hookless. Just last week Pro rider Thomas De Gendt's 353 NSW blew off a tire in the UAE Tour. No chance of that happening on these 4550 because they are a hooked rim.

@@cyberx7098nonsense, Vittoria have stated De Gendt was caused by a rock strike causing rim failure. Derek Gee and Fred Wright had tyres dismount from hooked rims as a result of pressure loss in PR ‘23 Hooks don’t save you from extreme failures and hookless don’t fail when everything is setup in spec 😊
