@@GCPerformance18 I don't agree with that comment. A road bike rides like a road bike providing they use similar components. All these marketing terms like compliance, stiffness, etc. are BS. I've own plenty of bikes over my 40 plus years, and I did own a Chinarello, a Hungfu, and a Yoeleo, and a Ridley, and a Colnago, and that's just the carbon bikes. I think I know something about this. If someone tells me their frame is so comfortable it's the best they have ever experienced I'm going to say you're full of it, check your tires.

@@charlesmansplaining Either you are lying or are unaware when you ride. There is certainly a difference between a 500-1000 dollar frame and the overpriced garbage from the west. Both are usually stiff enough but there is a noticeable difference in compliance in the frame itself regardless of wheels or tires between top end frames and low end chinese... Although noticeable, I agree that it is minimal and anyone should be happy with a 1000 dollar frame.

@@myxti3669 Okay, I'm lying. It's actually a joke around everyone that knows me when I tell them, It's the last bike I'll buy. I have a habit of getting a new bike within every two years. My latest bike is actually on it's 3rd year, but I am in the que with another US custom frame fabricator making me a new bike which I should have in the next couple of months. I've ridden lots of bikes and after a while I always find something I don't like about them and a reason to buy a new bike. When you talk about compliance I don't know what you're talking about. That topic doesn't mean crap to me.

$1880 for a T800 frame whereas the Elves Falath Evo which is a combination of T800 and T1000 is currently $1210 incl. one piece bar. I cant see where the additional $670 premium is coming in. Im assuming the paint process on frames now is where the premium is coming in because for features, there isnt anything there that can ask for that price increase.

Tavalo is a spinoff from Winspce which is considered to be a T1 manufacturer. Whereas Elves is more like T2&3 manufacture the fit and finish is ok but not great. Not just buy things from material. The same steak cooked by your mom costs way less from a 5-star chef, but does it taste good?

@@rogersliu1200 The owner of Elves worked for Giant and Specialized for over 20 years before starting the brand. So I’d guess he has a 5 star knowledge on the manufacturing process. Regarding my mom’s steaks, she could be a 5 star chef if she jumped through all the hoops to get the piece of paper but without it doesn’t mean the outcome is worse off.

Their weight claim is 820g for raw finish in an XS. I would imagine with multiple layers of paint and the size you got that the weight you measured is spot on.

I built 1 time bike. The front fork had a quality control issue where the brake mount wouldn’t fit on there. It needed a new fork, also the round 27.2 seatpost hole needed to be sanded down to have a proper fit. That was my experience with Time frame

@@GCPerformance18 Time are perfectly aware of that and you are the only one to ever get an issue like that. and that fork has been replaced I am told. Now, this may change when they move the production to America and scale it up. Now is the time to buy TIME in other words-while they are still made in EU. My own ADH is absolutely perfect and I am adding an ADHX soon and perhaps another ADH-just to be on the safe side.

@@GCPerformance18 probably just a factor of paint as you say later in the video, they post a weight of the thinnest matte paint and then when you get a multi-colour gloss with white and it's definitely going to be heavier. Just wish they'd post realistic weight of how much the larger sizes and/or paint options add.

Almost certainly the quoted weight is an unpainted frame with just clearcoat. A custom paint job will easily add 200g, which is basically exactly the difference here. I don't see a big conspiracy here, if you want a custom paint job from any frame maker, you can add 200g+ to the quoted weight of the basic frame.

I really don't want a straight top tube. I am really short and the drop tube gives me rise on the seat which gives more compliance.

Tavelo actually have a table showing the weights clearly by size and paint style. The issue here is GCPerformance made the video unprepared and said the incorrect claimed weight for his frame.

I bought a Scott Foil RC 30 over the winter and I'm about to pull the old Tarmac SL6 out of the garage to see if I prefer racing it (That Tarmac SL6 handles so damn well for crit racing).

I like those videos and those styles but so many people riding styles are so subjective..... I might say the bike is extremely comfortable and fast where as someone who is new to the sport my find the aggressive geo not as comfortable, I have always toyed around with the idea but Just like to ride the bikes when I have free time and not make it feel like a job lol

None of our brands that I know of -- do not contain fiberglass within their carbon frames' structure (not even within their lower grade carbon models). Most of them have been examined, & checked in the numerous different ways to see if they have fiberglass structures within their frame structures (either through one of the carbon fiber companies that we use for repairs, & / or through a third party carbon materials labs). I want to thank you Grant? for taking the time from your evening to add to this discussion. I really appreciate it.

My venge was 16.4lbs when it was matte black. After I had it painted it was over 17 lbs. Everything else was the same. Paint makes a huge difference.

Not willing to pay $1,880 for a chinese carbon frame. Too many big name brands with warranty and LBS support to compete with. ICAN selling their well made frames for $700 - 900. NOPE. Does look nice though. ( as long as you get the frame for free. )

You always talk about many frames having reach too short. In my experience the normal way of buying a frame is by the reach. So why don't you buy larger size frames that have longer reach? Then is the stack too high? I have maybe the opposite problem - really long legs and short torso.. so i buy a short reach bike but then i have the saddle near the absolute maximum extension and i should probably buy endurance frames with long head tubes because the stack is low compared to my saddle height

@@FT__Bicycling_____-sc7yv Both the stack and stand over height are always too high when sizing up to a 58. My anatomy falls outside the range of the average consumer. This is what my professional bike fitter told me, who also recommended that I ideally need a custom built frame.

if they mixed t800 with what seems to be t700 carbon i highly doubt its even close to the 66% lie. i'm guessing they only used the t800 in the BB area and HT area.

It reflects seat Tube length. You will need that info (along with the seat post workable length ) to determine whether you can get the right saddle height

Let me explain the situation: Our company is called Qi Xing Sports.... Tavelo is our in-house brand. Aside from Tavelo, we also have other customers and brands in the bike industry, including Adapt. In the early development stage, we were unsure if the sales numbers for the Arow would be enough to cover costs, so we offered the frame design to other brands / customers / departments. Now that we're established, in the future we won't share our designs. But, for example, if you see the 'adapt' name of this frame... QX-B01... the QX comes from our Chinese name... Qi Xing.

@@Tavelobikes let me explain the situation: together with PP margin your price is not competitive and asking 500$ extra for painting that U advertise on you social media is ridiculous. We all looked into Chinese brands to not to pay ridiculous prices becuase of marketing and influencers. And now U wanna sell your frames for prices like western brands and in many cases even more then they charge. Sorry guys we not paying 2k for a frame with ZERO resale value m

This bike carries the tradition of other Chinese framesets where the fork does not match the frame in terms of contours or aesthetics. It's like they just picked a random open mold fork to go with the frame.
