Thanks for showing the wash both zones, the manual says we can choose either or, but said nothing about running both at same time. Makes sense that it would be run both upper and lower at same time. Manual is pretty much useless. 1:26 Thanks also for showing how to move the top rack lower--another thing the manual doesn't talk about. I've been pulling it out all the way then reattaching it, but you show there's a lever on the left side that does it without having to remove all the way.

It is quite common for a dishwasher to not drain because either the drain hose or the air gap (if the unit has one) is clogged up. Drain hose clogs commonly occur where the hose is attached to the main household drain line, or where the hose connects with the garbage disposer. Try removing the drain hose to unclog any debris. Don't forget to reattach the hose before you start your dishwasher again.

I own this dishwasher. Overall I like it, but a few things I don't like. Love the extra top tray. Never had that before. It does a good job of cleaning the dishes. What I don't like is that if you don't use dry boost, you have to dry the dishes with a towel. If you use the dry boost, it takes a crazy long time to dry. I'm concerned about the amount of energy it must be using in this crazy amount of time. I just feel that if you spend the money on a dishwasher, you shouldn't be having to work by drying the dishes by hand, but I just can't rationalize using the extra energy to use the dry boost.

I just saw another video that said you could adjust the amount of drying aid that came out. It's a little dial that is next to where you pour it in. That may help it dry better.

@@donb1183 It's called poor quality of parts, made in china. do you understand what quality is? It sounds like you do not. It's called following the guidelines, repeatability in production, statistical quality control, not cheating with substandard materials or switching designs. Then of course you can feel comfortable buying a general electric product because you are using slave labor, Purchasing from a communist country that has no labor laws, no safety laws, or no environmental laws. Of course who in the fake news media doesn't like China in which China pays massive bribery? And they have paid off the american press as well as our politicians, especially the democrats but republicans like mich Mcconnell. A lot of people are making a lot of money off the Chinese. But don't be concerned. China is building the largest military in the world. Question: I just got this kind of GE model last week. But I can not tell when the cycle is done drying. Is it suppose to chime to let me know? I am used to a Whirlpool washer. I could tell by lights that went out, except for the Start button. If the Start button was the only light on, I knew the machine was done with all of it's cycles. I have read the GE manual and there was nothing to tell me what indicates it is done.

Sorry to hear that. Ours is now about 1 1/2 years old and continues to function perfectly, Cleans our dishes nicely and is really quiet. I don't know what you mean by "vent". Sometimes leaks occur because of incorrect installation rather than a fault with the machine. Sometimes if you set the racks too high some tall dishes or silverware can hit the washer arms. Give us some followup on what happens.

i would have to agree. We bought ours from Costo so thankfully they double the factory warranty. Just two months after the factory warranty was out the fill solenoid went bad and we went back and forth with GE trying to get someone out here to fix it and after over two months without a dishwasher they just replaced it. Now a year or so later it's not working again. Yes i did the install myself and after 36 years of installing elevators for a living i don't think it's my install that is the problem. If i get this fixed i will not be buying another GE dishwasher. It's really sad because we paid a lot of money and thought we were getting a quality, fool me once!

Give me some advice, I didn't get the owner's manual so I can't read it and my dishes come out soaking wet. I'm talking my cups have a bowl bottom to them and it is completely full of water (like a half inch). It is literally like someone just filled the thing with water and let it drain out with no drying or heat at all, it's that much water. I have tried running it on regular and heavy cycle. It has a dry boost selection, I've tried that on normal and high. I will admit I have not added rinse aid to it but my old one was a GE and I never put rinse aid in it and they came out reasonably dry. I wanted that one again, they were out of it and "upgraded" me to this one for free. My stupidity for agreeing to that without researching, they told me it was more expensive and better and they couldn't get the other one for a long time. I should have waited. I can't stand those "hidden controls" on this one. I can barely squeeze my finger in the gap below the counter to press the start button. Not totally bashing GE, I just got a new GE stove which I rate as excellent but I am not at all impressed with this dishwasher.

A couple of things. Yes, use the Rinse-Aide. Make sure you are letting the machine complete the drying cycle. Don't open the door until the light changes color to indicate it is done. Make sure you have pressed the sanidry button and you should hit the start button before you close the door. Look online for a users manual and use it. This is an excellent dishwasher and if you use it properly you should be very happy with it.

@@donb1183 Thank you for the excellent info about hitting start before closing door. That is good. About the rinse-aid I will buy some today. I guess I was just thinking if the last 4 dishwashers I have had get the dishes dry without rinse aid this one should too. I will find out this week if the rinse-aid does the trick or if the particular unit I have is just a dud (at least it's under warranty).

It needs a user interface control board, which GE no longer stocks or has any idea when they will have them to sell. Mine had the same problem and if you do the research you will find it is a common occurrence on this model. Chinese junk. Mine was only 3 years old and it was run less than a dozen times. Even if I could get the part which cost $125 it takes 2 hours of labor to install making the bill nearly $400. So why would I spend more than half the cost of a new dishwasher to repair this Chinese junk? Ever since GE was bought out by the communist Chinese seven years ago through a company called Hairer, the quality of GE appliances has gone down the tubes. I will never buy another GE appliance. Chinese junk!

I've had this dishwasher for three years and used it a dozen times because I am single. An engineer looked into why there was no power. Answer: it needs a user interface board a s a new wiring harness. $200 in parts. $200 in labor. And after using it, who wants to have three and a half hours for a normal wash cycle with heated dry? General Electric used to be a great appliance company that made reliable products that were competitively-priced with reasonably priced parts. Since the Chinese took them over, forget about it all the way around. Unreliable Chinese junk! Expensive parts. And they are not the lowest price to purchase. I will never buy another GE product again and this dishwasher is going into the scrapheap where it belongs with all GE chinese-made junk. You won't fool me again GE.
@donb1183
@donb1183 Жыл бұрын
Frankie, sorry to hear that you had problems with yours. I wouldn't be happy with a $400 repair either. Hopefully your situation isn't the norm. We are now 2 years in on owning ours and it continues to perform flawlessly for us. The length of time for a cycle is normal for dishwashers these days given restrictions on water flow. I think GE appliance is still making quality products and ours was made in Louisville. I don't view it as Chinese junk. It is much better than our previous Bosch which many would view as a better brand.

@@donb1183 I think if you can get more than four years out of your dishwasher, then you will be very lucky indeed. If you have done the research as I have done, then you will find that premature failure of the user interface control board is a common problem. My dishwasher was made in China and I stand by the point that it is Chinese junk. You will soon discover that the parts used in your dishwasher are also made in China. And it is easy to find many KZfaq videos demonstrating the failure and repair as long as you can get the part. However, GE no longer stocks the part and has no idea when they're going to get it!!! So without being able to buy a replacement user interface control board, the machine is worthless. It's Chinese junk. And I will never buy another General Electric Appliance again because they have been fully run, controlled and are owned by communist Chinese. Why would I spend $400 to repair machine that is only three years old and more than half the cost of a new one, even if I could get the part?? It's absolutely terrible and it makes no sense whatsoever from a financial standpoint. Chinese junk as all GE Appliances have become since they were bought out by the Chinese about 7 years ago. Talk to me after you get a couple more years of service and tell me if your machine is still running. I think you're going to find this is a common failure because that's what the research shows. In the meantime you might want to start picking out a new dishwasher, because it's likely you're going to need one.
