I've been using this kit and adding to it for 6 months now so I've gotten really used to it and done lots with it. Go to my food playlist to see all my cooks so far. I'm about making good food from scratch in the outside.

The Plastic bag also prevents galvanic corrosion of the aluminium pots and kettle caused by contact with the brass burner. If they were left in contact without the bag, tiny holes would eventually form in the pots, kettle etc.

Lovely! I bought the 28 (Mini Trangia) a year ago and have loved using it, but have today ordered the 27-2 to get a fuller kit for even better cooking. I love that it is a very green way of camp cooking compared to gas stoves, and I love that you can prepare proper meals. Your review btw was very well filmed and enjoyable to watch, thank you. ps like the cat too!

The 27 is great. You can buy the small tundra lids and they for the small pots with no melting. You put them upside down in the inner pot then put in the kettle it will all fit. You can also get the 2.5L Billy and the whole kit drops in and you can add a second fry pan inside. You can also strap a plate or two to the bottom of the Billy. ;)

The reason you should keep the burner in the bag is not because of the little bit of fuel .it's because brass which the burner is made of and aluminum. Which pots are made of. Will corroded if left touching each other for period of time. Good video though I m glad you like the trangia .their great. I don't know if you have tried adding 10 percent water to the fuel yet but it' really help to control sooting up your pots and makes the flame a little cooler so you don't burn food so much and only adds second to the boil time. Most people don't read the yellow bag but it does say to add water to the fuel. Hope you keep up the videos

Great review. I've had the Trangia mini for a year and just got a second hand 27-1. Someone told me to put the strap on with the buckle to the side or reverse to stop the frying pan getting scratched or damaged. Cheers for the video.

I love mine, I have the nonstick since I spend weeks at a time camping I don’t want to spend much time scrubbing. If you get the pot with lid that sells separately, I think is 2-1/2 L the whole 27 set fits neatly inside of it, that way if you want to cook a bigger batch of let’s say stew you have the pot to do so. The mini is great for one person when traveling or on the hike, pic a nice spot and cook a little, have coffee etc, I have it in my car all the time but recommend getting a windshield for the mini. 👍🏻

Dave i have had a trangia 27 the last two years or so. I use it when i can great really used by sweedish miliary, but they are different. All i have added is the gas burner as its usefull sometimes to have 2 options. If you have other caming ware, it can be used on trangia mostly. I use a very old kettle from asda it works fine. You dont need to get costly trangia kit.

Really love this review, mate. I did it nearly in the same order like you. Bought the basics and upgraded it piece by piece. I have it in use for around two years now and still love it. If you can get your hands on the gas stove too, I'll definitely recommend. A great cooking system and realy efficient, too. ATB, Hal

I've got my really old/90's 27-with kettle and I've upgraded to a duossal pan and small pot the plan is to season the pan for a nonstick that'll last a lifetime, I've also got the multi disk and a teabag squeezer/cooking tongs and I've thrown in a opinel no°8 and from a lockdown project that only cost about £20 plus the £45 on the new bits I think it's a steel and I've used it so much note why I splashed out on the new parts but I'd love a wool case for it even though mines like 1200g already with tea, milk powder and sugar stashed in the kettle with the burner

@@bushcraftdavetrangia they're a bit pricey at like £20 a pot/pan but I've not seasoned my pan yet and I've cooked a few eggs with minimal stickage. I forgot my kits got a spoon I carved in there to and I've got the billy pot and plate, but when I get back out and carve a few more bits and it'll be perfect.

Hi Dave! Top draw review, especially the outtakes at the end, had me in stitches 😂 I’ve had my 27 for about 3 months and like you have been upgrading it bit by bit, my nonstick fry pan arrived this afternoon!! I also have the kettle and I bought a nonstick outer pot as I like my porridge! Just a point, I found it took longer to boil 350ml of cold water in the kettle than in one of the pots covered with the fry pan, I think it has something to do with surface area or something! So by Christmas I should have the multi disk and bag🤞! Being of a certain age I’ve used Trangia on and off for 40+ years but the 27 is the first one that’s all mine😂 Kind regards from deepest Dorset 👍

Pluses on threading the strap, before you put every thing in it. I just got the 25-2 UL, and took me about three tires to figure that out.

For me the best Trangia are the Storm Cooker 27-21 UL/D with Gas Burner, I have the Kettle 27 Small, 0.6 L and ditch the small pan, so one large pan and a kettle. I ditched the spirit burner many years ago, it takes much too long time to cook and uses too much spirit, so gas cooks much faster and uses not much gas, so it is a much more light weight solution with the gas burner ! Highly recommended.

I have many stoves - Trangia is my stove of choice - I have several. Re sooting when you use the alcohol burner, if you mix 10% water with the alcohol, this helps A LOT in reducing soot. This is recommended in the fine print on the yellow bag. Nice review - thanks.

How much fuel did you use to cook say for one day?
@bushcraftdavetrangia
@bushcraftdavetrangia 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Terry When you fill to 2/3 of the stove which is the recommended fill, it is about 125ml. I find that I often need to fill it again if I am doing a big cook for dinner. If you are doing breakfast, lunch and dinner I guess you would maybe want to consider having 500ml to be on the safe side, but that is likely way too much. The bottle I take out with me is the 500ml trangia bottle, and I rarely need to refill it before a journey as I've not used much of a previous cook out. I hope this is useful help and advice Terry. If you have any other questions please let me know Dave
