I love him ... why? for a few reasons. 1. His fucking HAIR AND BEARD! I MEAN FUCKING SERIOUSLY!? 2. He's probably one of the coolest and laid back dudes in metal... and he's not full of shit 3. He gets his tone (which is fucking BEAUTIFUL... PURE METAL KATCHUNK!) from very affordable gear. He's showing his fans and people that want to play guitar but can't afford expensive shit, you can get as far as he has with VERY affordable gear and Imagination/Creativity! he's a fucking legend! \m/ Rock On

I'd love to argue with Wayne about his cheap gear cus I'm a gear snob, but every time I saw them they sounded great, the PA system at the venue I always saw them at is one of the best in the world so thag helps too. RIP Wayne, you're missed homie!

All that I can say is that the guitar sound of Wisconsin Death Trip is THE most brutal, perfectly chunky and smooth, rhythm sound that I have ever heard bar none!!! I challenge anyone to show me a better, meaner guitar sound. I WILL say that Dime's Far Beyond Driven sound is a close second, but just listen to a couple of songs like track 5 'I AM' or 11 'The Trance is the Motion.' I mean, it's completely jaw-dropping!!! It's heaven!

I agree about that tone. It seems that Koichi's VHT setup was rarely mentioned though. I know the MG would have needed help with a PA. Even Wayne said the MG isn't that loud.

Ok so there's some people who still seem a little unclear on the situation. Wayne is using the Epiphones (ESP now as well) and Marshall MG because he likes how it sounds. No point in bashing that. You're absolutely allowed to have an opinion, but there's no real point in criticizing people about their taste...it's what they like. If you don't like it, don't listen. No point in flaming, really.

Well he says it right therein the interview...he plays it because he likes it. Right now he's actually got a signature ESP model. But I'm sure he still uses the Gibsons and Epiphones a fair amount.

Yeah I think everybody can pretty much agree that Epiphones suck. I don't know much about the MG marshall but I'm guessing it's the squiers of the marshalls. I actually bought his guitar but it was just the flying v gothic so I had more control over my sound (like it mattered). 400 dollars for what should have been 25. They should have given those things away in happy meals.

you can get a good sound out of a mg if you take the time. Get a mg half stack and replace the speakers with 2 vintage 30s and 2 g12t 75s and you will have a good sound for distortion.

Not really, he was given a ESP by Sean from the band SOIL. I don't think is is actually endorsed by them, though...but he may be nowadays.

I own a Warlock, its a great guitar but a little too heavy to use playing live. When I was in a band I could play maybe 5 songs in a row, then just put it down for an Ibanez. Personally, I wanna get a Jackson, those things are amazing.

tho i do have to admit, even the cheep $100 dean vendetta xm was a suprise to me, was damn near setup the way i like it the pickup's were even raised the way i like them, and it has a decent tone.tho its its quite has meaty sounding as my bronze but its a good guitar. but thats probably due to it being tuned drop C, and my dean is only drop d

because they have junk pickup's. any of the $50 rockfield pickup's makes the bronze sound sweet, ive got LP pups in mine and most are surprised to hear it sounds good as it does.you get what you pay for

I would say some are some arent. I had a really nice 1997 LP Standard that I regret selling. I had gotten it secondhand at a good price and it was definitely worth what I paid for it considering "how much guitar I got for the money". Also had a few other Gibsons that werent as nice and also a 2001 SG Classic that was pretty nice. I say tru and find something made before 2002 if youre getting a Gibson. I bought all the ones Ive had long before the pandemic and it was probably a lot easier finding a good deal on a used one then.

i prefer dean guitars with line 6 amplifiers. but i would also use esp guitars. im into radical design with brutal punchy tone and those are the best guitars for that tone. i have found bc.riches have too much gain/treble.

And another thing, artists always have their guitars and amps custom when ur making that much. I bet you anything that his guitar is completely different in terms of pickups and wiring from the ones they sell as the "Wayne Static" guitar.

any cheep guitar is inferior to the upper models...all it takes is 10 minutes to adjust the bridge.and throw on a set of grover or locking tuners and your good to go. mine soon will have a floyd rose but still.

I don't endorse the Marshall MG series...I agree with you, they totally suck. You would not find me playing one of those amps. I really do not like them. Terrible tone. As for the Epiphones, I KNOW that the only reason he's playing them is because of endorsements. But maybe he does actually like them.

He uses that gross ass marshall!? That guy really doesnt know about good tone or music for that matter. But im not talkin shit, i give static x props for just being big and havin a lot of fans i guess. But any decent guitarist knows the guitar in their songs is a joke. Then again music doesnt have to be skilled to be good. They write catchy songs ill give em that much.
