I have this paddle ordered it as soon as it was available. It does take some getting used to on how to control the power but once tamed your level of play is significantly higher. I get a ton of speed and top spin with the ability to do things I cannot with any other paddle. I did add weight 3g weight at the 12, 1, 5, 7 & 11 locations around the paddle which I feel better balance the paddle and expand the sweet spot. Thanks for posting the video a lot of good info.

Appreciate the comment! Yeah, I need to experiment with adding some at the top corners because that could help improve the control too. Glad you are enjoying it, definitely a fun paddle.

I’m a 4.5 player and never felt in danger until playing against this. I think these paddles are dangerous.

My Pro Power E paddle is a definite upgrade from my CX-14 E. It is amazing that it gives me both, added control and more of a pop/speed, at the same time, than my CX-14 did. I set my Pro Power E up differently, though. I wanted it to be less head heavy so l weighted the bottom of the handle 3oz and also 3gms at the 4 00 and 8 00 o'clock positions. I get added pop to my backhand rolls and flicks. At the same time more control on my blocks and for dinking.

I got mine in late Dec. Agree it takes more to adjust to it than others. The "break in" seems to be different from paddle to paddle. I've played against a couple other PPE's and they all sounded different than mine????? The term "floating core" is being used to describe the PPE. Could be the reason for the sound difference from paddle to paddle. IMO. My punch volley is insane with this paddle.

Oh yeah the pop/power combo on this is ridiculous. It is interesting how much the gearbox seems to vary unit to unit. Is that your main paddle now?

@@AllDriveNoDropPickleball I really need to stick to the GB PPE, but I'm really liking this "MERCER" with a 100% Kevlar core at 20mm to dial in my control game.

I'm using the Pro Control Fusion and loving it. I want to demo the Power version, but my game is more controlled, so I'm not sure if I'll like it. Plus, the Control version's power rating seems to still rank pretty high in some of the other reviews I've seen. The price is certainly steep, but it is often overlooked in durability with the SST core. It's not going to break down like a honeycomb core paddle will. The CEO of Vatic Pro said a paddle lasts around 6 months (even less on with the thermo-formed), which was nice to hear some honesty from a manufacturer. So, while you could buy 2 (or close to 3) decent paddles for the same cost, in the end, the GB could end up the better value.

Good point Sean, gearbox is well known for their paddles lasting a long time. I’d guess the spin will drop over time but the core will hold up longer than other cores.

If you find yourself among those who invested in a high-priced paddle only to receive a defective one, with Gearbox refusing to honor the warranty, consider pursuing recourse through your local small claims court. File a claim to assert your rights and ensure accountability.

On the quality control, I have seen most content creators rave about the power but reading through allot of comments it seems the power is disappointing among the unwashed masses.

They were having issues foam expanding that bulged into the paddle face. I’m not sure if they ever fixed their issues haven’t heard much chatter about them lately as most who wanted the power/pop jumped to the Joolas.
