For me its the whole fight itself. Just... Acnologia barely moves his left nutsack during 90% of the fight, easily just beating the godgiven shit out of everyone there. And then the writer realised he has no way to actually kill him so they pull out the Goku move "GIVE HIM YOUR ENERGYYYYY" and Natsu one-shots him. This fight was DBZ Broly all over again. It was just laughable.

It was a one-sided slaughter where the villain didn't even take a single papercut of damage. But then Goku says "give me your energy" and 1-hit-punches Broly down. This was pretty much the same. The writer just says "And then they magically win, the end".

Really? Cause I find incredibly lackluster and last minute. It should had been given it's own arc but instead it feels out of place and leaves way too many unanswered questions. Why did the original Acno attack? How did he learn DS magic? How did he obtain such a powerful version? How did he get so strong when he was apparently pretty weak. And the sad thing is that it's better than the manga which gave us nothing.

And probably the most disappointing part is that Acnologia have no Dragon Slayer element! It was mentioned by Grandineey that their souls was reap from their body by Acnologia’s Dragon Slayer Magic! So what element that could could reap their souls? Death right! So I thought that he may be a Death Dragon Slayer or a Blood Dragon Slayer because he can reap their souls and he devouring their blood! But what do we get was a Dragon Slayer with no element,Hiro broke his own rules of Dragons and Dragon Slayers because Dragons and Dragon Slayers should have a specific element and that proves that Hiro doesn’t know what to do with Acnologia

I managed to make all other fights in last arc somewhat reasonable to me, but this one I can't stand.

I'm glad Laxus and Erik were included in this. They are dragon slayers too and deserve to have spotlight on them. We need to know more about them, hopefully it will happen in the future whenever another Fairy Tail comes out.

it’s because laxus and cobra aren’t actually dragonslayers. They had a lacrima implanted in them to let them use dagonslayer magic, but they were not taught it by a dragon.

I think the best explanation is that Natsu is the only one who can hurt Acnologia because he's a demon, so magic immunity doesn't protect him from curses. They should've said that though.

Actually the whole series is a mess, loose settings, plot armour fights, only the things surrounding Zeref are good enough.

The show really should have ended after tartaros. Mashima never planned the ending so this mess happened. The new spinoff manga is just as bad. Before this arc this show would have went down as fairly average. Not great but not horrible. Its the fakeout deaths which I hate the most. Like juvia and gray are dead, oh wait. Thqt happened like 6 times

I continued to watch the show and read the manga exclusively for the other characters scenes with natsu were often the most boring. Fuck even happy had more development.

Same goes for Laxus, he looks badass when his skin turned into scales when he trying to be their master.

That's not to say it's all bad, but it's definitely not even in the top 20 when it comes down to actual plot. It has far more episodes, games, movies, etc. than anime that have better story's than it. Guess what? Just because something has a bad story doesn't mean it won't get another season. Fifty Shades of Grey is one of the worst movies ever, it has like two sequels.

Hiro oneshotted every enemy and villain. 0 animation, hands up - some effects - enemy on the ground - fin. It's shonen, c'mon. Epic fight and animation - no, booties and tidies every 2 seconds - yes.

Them being on par with Acno in power hasn't been confirmed. It's self proclaimed. And Ignia is the one who said he surpassed Acno even tho he never fought him. Sting did the same thing and look how weak he was. Notice that NONE of the dragon slayers here were able to hurt Acno even though he wasn't at full power(his other half was outside) and were only able to hurt him when they all combined their power into Natsu who was further enchanted by Wendy. Natsu during that time was at his strongest.
