I have 2 and worked on a third. All needed serious nut slot work...they were at .030"+!! I had to flip the red and yellow wires to fix the pickup issue. After a full setup- awesome guitar.

Yea there’s room for improvement on the set up and wiring. but I mean for 80 bucks it’s alright u like the Davison better I am thinking about reviewing there Strat too. It looks good on paper but it has a coil split on the bridge pickup which will prolly be worthless take care

@@KWM1972 that is one budget guitar that I have not put my hands on. I agree though at $80 it's a steal once you get it all set up. It's a fairly unique configuration too especially at that price point.

I got one as a Christmas gift in the surf green. Mine was problem free compared to yours on the electronics side. The intonation was way off and the fretboard was very dirty with residue. The frets were very good though, once cleaned up. The low E tuner is wonky. I'll probably replace the pickups at some point though, mainly to get a better balanced set.

Yea it’s just the way it goes with these cheaper guitars some will be good and some will have problems nice to see you got a good one take care 🎸

nice tele clone brother! i got the surf green model and replaced the pups and switch.... "hum90" from guitarfetish(dream90)on the bridge and a soapbar p90 from guitarmadness on the neck... sounds really nice now!

I just received my GTL-200 and even though Amazon didn’t even try to pack it properly, it was pretty much perfect out of the box. It was reasonably setup and no phasing issues in the middle position. I have pickups and a wiring harness on the way from GFS to put in her.

Sounds like you just got one with bad pickups, but you knew what to do 👍 I bought one as well, and did unboxing and review videos. I had to do some set up work out of the box too: saddles and a backbow in the neck. I was suspicious that the frets might be stainless steel because they were so SMOOTH. Since you had to work on yours a little, were they harder on your tools, or do think they are just highly polished? I also agree, not really for a beginner unless you know someone who can set it up some. Otherwise, I love it. GREAT playing, I will be subscribing!

Thanks yes I thought they might be stainless to but I don’t think so they weren’t that difficult to work on like stainless they also felt like I was playing a nickel fret guitar stainless can sound bright and zingy for lack of a better word but I mean it was 85.00 j just wanted to to show people that you can indeed make it work with a little elbow grease lol thanks for the support let me know if you have a channel I will check it out too have a good one man 🎸

@KWM1972 this is my channel. The other reasons that I suspected stainless steel frets was that it popped up when I was actually searching stainless steel frets guitars on Amazon. It was one of the first 3, even though it WASN'T listed in the details or specs. I have a handful of stainless steel fretted guitars, because once I got the EART Telecaster with them, I was SPOILED! 😆 Mine really DOES feel like it, but it could be just an amazing polish job. 😆 Either way, feels absolutely GREAT to my hands! Again, great job!

Someone that has never held a guitar thinks it is something special or handmade. It feels like that the first time. It is no different than picking out shoes. They are kinda the same. Finding the one that fits.

Probably I shielded the guitar but I have a very small studio and sometimes I get that from the lights or the outlets it sux but i have to work with it
