Not only did you have both knives in frame for most of the video but you also were moving them around, showing different angles. Couldn't have asked for a better comparison video. Subscribed ✅

i have the 4 laser strike is cool but i think that hollowed out handle will make it inherently weaker in the handle

Hello there. I just purchased the Laser Strike and found it to be thicker than the Esee 4. The Esee 4 is 1/8 inch thick, and the Laser Strike is 5/16. I wonder if they started using a thick steel on the LS?
@JakeMarcin7 жыл бұрын
strange one, one the website it states they are the same thickness at the thickest point
@brittthomas76186 жыл бұрын
Rick McClanahan The ESEE-4 is 3/16 in. (0.18) thick & the Laser Strike is labeled being 3/16 & you'll also see it measured at 0.20; so it's confusing. The 4 is only 3/16 from the pommel to the base of the grind on the blade- due to it being a full flat grind. Where the LS is 3/16 for majority length of the blade, due to the high saber grind. *5/16 in. thick would be over 1/4 in. thick like the ESEE-5.

Both are 3/16 inch however the Esee 4 has a more pronounced distal taper (longer taper). Both great knives.

Which one do you guys think would be a better edc?
@JakeMarcin5 жыл бұрын
Honestly depends how your EDC is structured. The Laser Strike is a much more capable knife but the Esee 4 is lighter and small. So if you have a bigger EDC style setup I'd go the Laser Strike. If it's geared more towards being light weight then definitely the Esee 4

@@JakeMarcin sorry for responding so late. I'm looking to horizontal carry behind the waist in the small of my back. I want to conceal the knife as much as possible (dont like the attention) yet also be light enough that I wouldnt mind the extra weight. I'm think the esee 4 would be a good choice, laser strike seems like it would be too heavy. Any other competition out there for a better knife? I also really.like the sheath the esse comes with. seems quick to draw incase I need to fend off someone God forbid.

Noah Carl definitely sounds like the Esee 4 is better suited for your needs. There are plenty of other great knives out there for EDC. I think there are plenty of other people with much better knowledge then me when it comes to EDC. I can definitely vouch for the Esee 4 being a great knife though. But Spyderco has some fantastic knives too
