GearVR to Quest: Copying Games and Apps

If you have an old GearVR around, some of the games and apps you purchased or installed may actually run on the Oculus Quest - even if their store doesn't officially support it. We'll try two titles: Smash Hit VR and Plex VR.
You'll need a working GearVR, Oculus Quest, X-Plore File Manager on both and we'll be using SideQuest to move the files around.

RetroArch with Virtual Boy is best I got so far. I would love to see 3DNA for Windows reshaped to be an Arcade environment. Since 3DnA allows inputting app to posters, use this to create arcades. Going further, emulators and roms would need to match, but if this was pro. The dev could create different Arcades, that allows more multiplayer per room. So someone could host like a; Mortal Kombat tournament with 16 players in the arcades lobby, while maintaining the 2 players VS. then rent the rooms or sell the app. In my opinion.

OK. I got Smash-Hit working, but the focus is way off. I'm seeing two of everything. Is there a way to adjust that? Oculus Quest 2.

Tnx for the upload Mr. MonroeWorld. I wonder does the GaerVR Virtual Desktop work on Quest 2? I mean I already bought it on GearVR and I don't want to buy it again on Quest 2

What I want to know is there any way of watching a film together with 1 person using a gr vr and the other a quest 2? I recently upgraded my old Gear VR but still have it and I would really love to watch films with my partner I know you can do it if you have to quest headsets but considering he would literally only use it for watching content it would be a waste of money to buy another when a gear vr works well for just content consumption.

I'm guessing the only way to do this would be to both of you to have the movie locally stored on the device and simply start it at the same time. Not ideal, but the only solution I can think of.

@@Darkuni I tried with the obb and data files. Intro screen pops up then it goes black and back to the oculus menu

@@Darkunido you know if there are patching programs for these kind of apks ? I see some people are patching them to play on the quest 2. Im curious to how they are doing it

Well, this video assumes X-plore is installed on Quest. But how to install X-plore before you have X-plore installed? Seems like I can skip this video and find some other with complete information.

Standard Android app installation. I'm out of the VR business, so by all means - look elsewhere. Google "ADB Sideload".

Does that device need to be rooted? I use xplore and it won't show me copy

S10 recently got an update to andriod 12 and sadly it wiped off gear vr 😢 You think I could get gear vr off another phone and reinstall it to my s10?

Man...maybe. I keep an s7 around for just this reason

@MonroeWorld lol that's what I got too is the s7, it never gets updated anymore so the gear vr stays on there, but the s7 not as sharp looking as the s10 plus my s7 screen burnt with youtube , this sucks, I been looking around and can't find anything how to rig the gear vr back onto the s10. I'm close to just buying an oculus but I was just using my gear vr for media and it worked great. Stupid phone updates 😒

Nvm I realized I had to do the same process haha but now when I install at the end it says package installer stopped working. Any idea how to fix?

@@usedevilthing I'm really out of the VR game right now. Perhaps a full reboot would help? I haven't put a Quest on my head in a very long time.

@@Darkuni appreciate the response. Sorry to hear you've fallen out of the vr world but you probably have better things to do haha. It seems like an android issue when I look at other videos but it only happens on the quest part.
