Showing how to disassemble a Geberit in-wall toilet carrier tank for cleaning, maintenance and repair.
To remove the button panel, push the panel slightly up and then lift it off of the wall on the top.
The lever assembly can be removed easily. Just make sure to stay clear of the two levers, which get pulled up in order to flush.
Don't forget to close the shutoff valve.
Cleaning off all of the seals should fix most of the problems with a constantly running toilet.
During the entire procedure the only tools you might need are pipe wrench and some pliers. I used both of them to disassemble the fill-valve for cleaning.

How do you adjust flush volume?

Look for the water tank fill adjustment for water volume and the plunger things that bear on the actuator. Their adjustable length changes the flush time.@@buildingmanager8687

Thank you thank you so much; we had spent 1300 Euros over 6 months, on three plumbers who not only didn't fix our leak from tank to bowl, but made it worse. Seeing your videos made me look deeper into the issue and I fixed it within 10 min! We are grateful to your sharing.

I can't get the front panel off at all. Not giving a thumbs down a sit's not thius guy's fault, but very annoyed mine doesn't pop like this one...is wedged onto wall and won't budge. I have levered things in behind but then it looks like the whole contraption is gonna get ripped off the wall if I appoly any more force. Useless fkcn thing.

@@ciaranfoster4451 I've not yet tried the full process, but I have removed the front panel, which in our case involved pushing to the right against a spring and then pulling away from the wall. I found phoning Geberit helpful - the flush was not working correctly, and they explained how to rotate one of the rods to correct the mechanism, all without having to pay lots of $$$ for someone to come around to our house to do the pretty trivial job!

My Geberit looked very different on the inside (perhaps an older model), so it took me 2 hours to get alle the parts out through that tiny wall hole. Your video still gave me the courage to try. Thanks for that. Why do they have to make those wall holes so tiny you can barely get your hands in there and you definetely can't see what you are doing? That is a crime against humanity to make wall holes that small... anyway thanks for the video.

Fantastic video, thanks!!! I would just add one thing: Inside the valve that you remove at 4:00 there is a very small through-let that can get blocked by chalk. It then takes hours for the reservoir to fill. In my region with very high chalk level in the water, I have to open and clean this valve every 3 years. A bit tricky but with a small screwdriver one can bend both legs of this valve and open it. An alternative is to dump it in a glass of vinegar for a full night.

When I push the button on the plate, the tank empties like normal, and starts filling, but all the water instead of filling the tank it goes into the toilet bowl. I suspect the little white rod 5:51 that connects the button on the flush plate to the mechanism remains stuck. Why could this be? Thank you

You probably have to readjust the plastic "screw" mechanism which you can see at 3:50 in the video. With the plastic screw you can adjust the height of the float. If the float is to high, water will flow in the overflow.

Ok, so I fiddled around with it a bit but felt too lazy to dismantle it completrly, just threw 1.5 liters of vinegar in, waited one hour, flushed it out a couple of times and left the bowl without water over night. This morning I filled the bowl and flushed and the water is no longer leaking. My theory was that limestone should have built up on the valves and this may have helped clear it. I read however that vinegar may deteriorate rubber with time so let's see if there is long term damage. Cheers!
