Sharpning has everything to do with the composition of the blade. I have a J.S. Holler made between 1880 & 1906, hit it with a steel a few times & you can shave. I wish I could say that for all my knives. My uncle a butcher, would bring his knives & cleavers home every day, he did not want a knife that would not sharpen easily, some do some don't. Thanks again,

Great video as always. I'm a huge GEC fan too. I just don't get a lot of their decisions lately. Like another run of UJs but only 2 barlows (excluding the sfos). And the pulls just seem to be getting lighter and lighter. Oh well, they still make the best production pocket knife IMHO. Love the BB club too!!

I resisted this release, mainly because I find my two #71s so perfectly sized that I can't see the larger one would be an improvement. Regarding your 'Pivot Show' on bolstered models which you've tightened, this can be eliminated by using some fine sandpaper on the area, then polishing back with Flitz or similar. Works like magic. No knife should be allowed out of the door with blade play - even GEC's QC isn't perfect (in a different universe to Case's though). It would be nice if GECs came with perfect, smooth, even, screaming edges, but they don't. I haven't got a problem with this, as I see them as a 'starting point' for you to finish as you please.

Some constructive criticism- I’m new to your channel and I love what I hear but I almost always play your videos on 1.25x speed. Idk if you script your videos and whatnot but maybe it could use a bit of a faster space. Not that you need to cut back on the thoughts that you do share, but maybe less filler in between thoughts. Just providing you feedback. Or maybe I’m just an iPad baby and i just outed myself lol

Your warranty experience must have something to do with this channel. I've 2bad experiences out 2 x trying. I would have sent my47 in if I thought they would fix it.

I have a relationship with GEC from 10 years of going to the Rendezvous and stopping in periodically. I don’t think they watch much KZfaq. I’m sorry to hear you’ve had bad experiences! Could you tell me more?

I like GEC and own many, however I think this Bull buster is overpriced for what it is, There are many more affordable sod busters. Such as Otter messer , Case sodbuster Jr. and many more. There are better options out there for less cost and they will work as good as any GEC Farm and field Bull buster. Thanks for showing the knife and flaws on this model which should not be considering the company reputation for high quality and build quality.

Sorry, I cannot agree with you. It is high time somebody stand up and speak up. Sod busters are old technology tools. They are not traditional folders. Sod busters are tools and soon as lockbacks came around, all sod busters should have been made with lockbacks. The only reason they kept making sodbusters the old ways is because people kept buying them, and why spend money to update when they did not have to? These obsolete tools are worth no more than $25 at most if that. They really should not cost anymore than Opinels. I would love to buy a GEC knife but I cannot because of the supply and price gouging. That is the only reason this $25 knife is being sold for almost $100. So please never tell people that as a knife, GECs are worth the price they charge. They are way over priced, even for their higher end traditional folders. I appreciate that they still make knives the old fashioned way with genuine materials and I as many are willing to pay more than they are really worth to get them but lets not fool ourselves and make these knives something they are not.

So with your logic, revolvers are old technology and should be priced accordingly?
@floydpots
@floydpots 4 ай бұрын
Also, remember that GEC does not require distributors to adjust their prices, so one place can sell them for $105 and another can sell them for $149. And the secondary market is driving the price way up. Another hint to think of is yes you can buy 2 or 3 case for the price of this one GEC, but I know, and many others would attest, that the quality on the GEC is way better…
@GlockNinja

@@floydpots Revolvers are obsolete firearms, maybe not as much as the flint lock pistols but in a real gunfight, I am certain 99 percent of people would pick a modern day semi automatic pistol. You make the mistake of thinking there is logic involved here. We live in a country where people will pay quarter of a million dollars for a sports car built in the 60's that can't even win a race against a regular built today. Better quality or not, a pocket knife should not cost almost as a gun.
