My early reserve came today and it's perfect. My first pattern production premier knife and my first Gunstock pattern. As beautiful as it could be. I love how the Gabon Ebony looks, it's like putting a tuxedo on a knife. I'm a happy man when I have an Ebony handled GEC in my pocket!

Been looking for gorgeous GEC knives available in Switzerland and finally located a few in stock with stag handle. With a gun stock handle I was compelled pulling the trigger, a purchase largely based on your review! Can’t wait 😊

Thanks for the heads up on these Rob! The Northfield trim is beautiful. I bought one in celebration of my cousins’ Eagle Scout rank, and liked it so much I bought another for me

@@swkohnle08 that’s awesome! They really are such great knives. Although it’s a shame what’s going on with the secondary market poacher’s buying up everything these days. I have about 25 myself but I started in like 2012 when dealers always had stock

Got mine today! Probably the last one still unsold in Europe and 115 of our Great British Pounds, so not exactly cheap but money well spent. Very well executed indeed, practically flawless. Those ebony covers are the best fit/finish of any wooden-covered knife I've ever seen, period. How do they do it? My first GEC in this handle material, and just loving it. Understated sheer class, and in the Tidioute finish it just says "Use me, use me". Any gripes? Not really - perhaps just that I'd have preferred a single bladed version (not made, I know), because then you'd actually get to utilise the ergonomic advantage of the handle shape (in two-blade configuration, the blade not in use prevents this). There again, you'd lose that lovely big butt (as you highlighted several times, leading us down the path of sin yet again Brother...).

They did a great job on these. I think some of the Northfield's have a rat-tail leading bolster??? Dog gone "googletube" must be messing with automated notifications again, because I was totally unaware of several of your latest videos.

Is the smaller blade tip sticking up just a little bit wear it will catch your finger or thumb nail looks like it

It's close, but not quite. The tip is still below the top of the liners, but it could probably benefit from a slight grind of the kick. That's just part of normal sharpening. It'll definitely need to be done next time.

Whats your view on GEC safe queens? I havent gotten around to using mine its too nice

I certainly have both safe queens and users. If it’s a pattern you buy as an investment, intended for resale later, definitely tuck it away. If you buy it to use, use it and maintain it - it’ll still be worth good money if you want to sell it later.

MP Original I know your not asking me. But it depends on if you want or are collecting knives. Are you using them everyday? Do you want a nice patina on it? Or do you want it to be super clean and polished all the time

@@beefstick4242 I really like to use my knives. I have certain ones that are hard use. This would be more for opening letters and cutting strings etc. No packaging tape on it for sure.
