Hey Gecko, I know this is a pretty old video, and I watched it about a year ago, and the chances of you seeing this are pretty dang low, but I really appreciate the ending of this video. My friend took 5gs of Mushrooms and played this for 8 hours.. He literally forgot that he existed outside of the game and was tripping thinking that everyone he was speaking with was a divine being assisting him with his 'ego death' trip. He stayed in the rec hall the entire time..

The nostalgia I got when I watched this again after two whole years is incredible. This here is the video that first introduced me to RecRoom. Gecko this video was so inspiring at the end and I know this was made over a year ago and I'm late but just listening to what you where saying was so calming. And it really made my day and one time I've play rec room for so long that I realized rec room is meant for people to have fun, chat, and relax. Because when I see rec room ads I see that your supposed to have fun. Man this inspired me so hard. You hit me straight in the weak spot of my feelings. I always focused on inviting the same friends, meeting a bunch of mic spammers, and just focused on leveling up and getting skins. But now i understand that it isnt about the levels, skins, or even having a certain amount of friends. Its about coming together with new people and hangout! Maybe try to build a creation with someone. You made me understand recroom :D

I can’t believe this video is 3 years old now. I still remember when this video not even a month old. And I was amazed by this video, and it made me play rec room non stop when Lockdown was happening here. It was the best year for me in rec room 2020, made so many friends, learned mistakes, and still occasionally I get on. Thanks Rec Room for the amazing memories 🥲.

I'm genuinely glad that someone sees Rec Room in the eyes of us Rec Room builders and the devs of the game. Rec Room's an experience in my eyes. One to enjoy! This is why so many VR players come back to Rec Room. You can do pretty much anything in Rec Room, meet new people, play games created by the community, make your own creations or rooms and much, much more. Like gecko said, something about Rec Room puts it many levels above VRChat. Even staying a whole 24 hours in Rec Room, it’ll still have you playing more.

You can do exactly the same in VRChat. I enjoyed the video but that one point is just wrong. As someone who actively makes creations in VRChat and is active in communities with other VRC creators it's just plain to see how incorrect his assesment is. Everything unique he listed applies to VRChat. And starting off by saying "yeah you can make goofy avatars" Is also understating the Avatars people create in VRChat. There's more than just goofy, there is beautifully sculpted, textured and rigged creations. Avatars containin an entire unique experience. But further VRChat, just like recroom has an endless amount of games created by the community. It's great that he likes rec room more than VRChat but to talk about things that are the core component of VRChat as if they dont exist in VRChat is just strange. And the entire speech would have been more powerful if he omitted trying to put rec room above something else. It jut taints what could have been a beauiful pure send off.

@@Disatiere You’re right, when i was writing that 5 months ago, I was very bias towards Rec Room as it was one of the first VR games I’ve ever played. I have to give VRChat some credit as well. It was really fun to enjoy creations and games while wearing some unique avatars. And this game was infinitely more fun with some friends. Something about VRC felt unique, like you could truly express yourself with avatars. So yeah, I was very naive to basically say “rec room is better than vrchat” which isn’t true at all.

I’m SUPER late but I’m hoping to get an oculus for the combination of Christmas and my birthday and this is definitely something I’m getting because of you it made me laugh and showed me I can enjoy some social interactions if I’m sick or I’m chilling at night, bored or just wanting to hangout on my vr.
