Passed everything besides math in 2017 but Due to discouragement and doubt I put off taking the math portion until now 2020. Finally got the guts to go for it so I watched a couple of these videos the night before the test and ended up passing today and Completing my GED. My class graduated in 2013 and I’ve spent these 7 year of my life feeling like a worthless bum just because I didn’t believe I could do this and was worried to fail. Don’t be like me and believe in yourself, you can do this ! We are all Kings and Queens but just don’t realize our own worth . Good Luck 👍

I passed the Math GED today !!!! Thank you so much Mr. Cohen. Your videos helped me so much. I dropped out of HS in the 90's. Math was my worst subject. I cringed at the thought of math and at the beginning felt I would never understand Algebra, Hypotenuse, graphs, etc. I had the basic knowledge of addition, subtraction, little multiplication/division. I can finally close this chapter in my life. For anyone struggling or wanting to give up please keep pushing. You can and will pass if you keep at it. THERE IS A EASY WAY TO SOLVE THE QUESTION 9. 4X+3Y=8 + + 4X-3Y=-16 8X=-8 X=-1 IT WILL SAVE A LOT TIMES TO FIND THE ANSWER.

Another method for 4x+3y=8 and 4x-3y=-16 is to just add down. 4x+4x, 3y-3y, 8-16 this equals 8x=-8 making a short way to get to x=-1. Your videos are helping me, I just saw this and it may help if you come across a problem that is set up that like this one was.

easier way to solve question 8: total pounds = 65 pounds the envelope = 7.5 pounds 65 - 7.5 = 57.5 pounds there’s 5 boxes left to calculate the weight of, so we divide 57.5 pounds (the remaining pounds left) by 5 (the amount of boxes) and we get 11.5 pounds per box

I’m piss poor so I’ve been using KZfaq & USA HELLO & absolutely none of this I have seen other than the 2-3 step equations with 1-2 of the same variable. Extremely unmotivating unfortunately.

You never encourage your students to do mental math? Dude it's not that hard. Just break it down. You have to know this. Lots of tests do not allow calculators. 30x15= 10x35 + 5x35. 10x35= 350, if 5 is too awkward to think about when multiplying against non 0 ending numbers just break it down more. for example 2x35=70, 70+70= is 140+ one left over 35 which is 175. 175+350=; if this is too much to do mentally just break it down further. So we have 75+50 then 100+300. 5+7 is 12 so we add the 0 120+5 125+100+300=525. Trust me when I say this. I AM NOT GOOD AT MATH. I learned this while watching a lot of math videos. And once you learn it, you can do this stuff in your head in seconds. It is not HARD. If a dummy like me can do it, so can you.
