The gk61 is like the kit that will never die, so many versions under different name but same old gk61 and it's starting to getting picked up again. My first 60% was a gk61 and had a very good time with it, certainly a good starter kit. Edit* Congratz at 100k!

In case anyone didn't know, there is a microphone in the GK61 for one of the RGB lighting effects.

Ive had this same keyboard for about 2 Weeks now and I never thought of reopening or relubing anything but considering this is a huge step up from prebuilt or store bought keyboards, I actually laughed when you showed that the spacebar was only clipped on one side, its been driving me nuts why my left feels SOOO smooth but the right stab on my spacebar is all pingy.

As an owner of 2 GK64s: GK64S in a wooden case (rosewood) - Cherry plate mount stabs (balanced wires, lubed with 205g00 and permatex, clipped, bandaid modded), 67g Aqua Zilents (lubed with 205g00), Maxkey SA keycaps GK64 in the plastic case - Stock stabs (balanced wires, lubed with 205g00 and permatex, clipped, bandaid modded), Kailh Box Royals (springs lubed with permatex to remove ping), DSA PBT keycaps, case lined with foam Cherry stabs sound better but still have some rattle, not sure as to what causes it (unless that really really impossible to get at imperfection in balancing causes it), but I did manage to get the stock stabs to sound quite decent. Spacebar sounds slightly even with dsa caps, but that's probably because of the plastic case However, both keyboards sound great and I love the 64key layout Gotta mention that there used to be a GK6X software on github (can't seem to find it right now) which is much more capable than the stock software as it allows remapping of some of the keys (for example the 'del' key to the right of up arrow or backspace which you can't remap via the software). Doesn't have a GUI but still worth checking out

I actually like the sound of the stabs and I think you did a good job with them

EDIT: This will be edited as I continue to watch... You don't have to clip the legs. I got a similar kit from YMDK. I simply put thick band-aid tape where the stab stems contact the PCB and it got rid of the pinging. If you cut the band-aid tape long enough to cover the stab holes/clip holes, it will also remove rattle as when you screw/clip in, the fit will be a lot tighter. I think I saw you do this in other videos... If your stab keys are still clacking, then your keycap may be making contact with either the plate, housing, or switch. O-rings can get rid of that clack.

I own this pcb and plate with those stabs and it took me tons of time to get the stabs done, i feel you a lot. Btw the plastic case is easier to silence with foam than the aluminum one

This board is semi-budget and it sounds *SOOO GOOD!!!* By semi-budget, I mean $120 for case, pcb, plate, $80 for switches, $130 for keycaps. $120 + $80 + $130 = $330

I bought the wooden version of this kit and just to let you guys know the usb cable is relatively short so you may wanna look at a bigger cable just in case, but the quality of the kit is pretty nice.

I actually just got this keyboard. Really wish the 5mm foam was able to fit around the whole case instead of just the smaller hole. I can confirm the stabs are bad. I got some cherry stabs from zeal coming in soon to hopefully fix this issue. I also bought the plastic case version. The foam does fit in this case fully. Cherry stabs on this as well. With some Box silent browns im loving how it sounds.
