I love mixing this (in #2) with the Maestro Glow (also in #2). The best way I've found to apply them is to push it in with my fingers. Saw Karima McKimmie mix them and the finish on her dry skin was nearly undetectable. Radiant in a healthy way (not oily) with such a nice light/medium coverage. Using moisturizer and then the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer... it's a super combo. HG status for me. 😊

Thanks, Beth! I so much prefer a pink undertone but I have to begrudgingly admit that for some reason this spring/summer my body (particularly my arms) do have a bit of a yellow undertone, and I think that's why I can pull this off. My neck and shoulders still seem pink undertone to me but my arms/hands are definitely leaning yellow.

Great review! Thanks so much! Im still tempted but not getting it this summer. I prefer to purchase cruelty free, but I was so curious about this one. I think you do a great job of choosing foundations for review! I would also love a foundation roundup video every 3 or 4 months as a follow up to your great first impressions.

If I didn't just hit 30 foundation reviews, I'm pretty close! It's definitely time to start working on a roundup! I've been considering going cruelty free for a year or so. I'm vegetarian for ethical reasons. I feel like makeup is kind of the same as how I am in practice with food. I would love to be vegan, and have been for a year on, a year off, a few times throughout the years. But it's a larger commitment logistically than I am able to take on consistently right now. I'm at a crucial point in my career where workload is as high as it will ever be, and I don't have the mental capacity to commit to veganism or 100% cruelty free personal products. I have no doubt I will get there eventually on both fronts, but not yet.

You are so right about the foundation settling down time. I bought it, I love it and I don't care about the price. I could have bought 6 bottles for all the brands I bought and ended up tossing or giving away because it didn't have the finish I needed. Hope I didn't break the age rule, I'm over 60 and love your reviews. Thanks for sharing!

Most make up here in Italy is quite a bit more expensive than in the US but Armani is quite affordable (maybe because it's an Italian brand). Since I was able to get for 32 euros, I decided to take the plunge. Your amazing review convinced me that I would enjoy the finish.

Maybe you should leave the powder off. I use GA and apply with my fingers. Just a suggestion. My fav.

I want this to be my go to foundation so badly. I just can't match my color. I ordered 4.5 because it was neutral and it is wayyyy to dark. 2 is wayy too light. 3 does not have any neutral undertones. I am at a loss. I wear the same colors as you and we match on the ELDW 1c1. Help

I would suggest that you use some Marula oil before you put foundation on as I find that it makes the foundation go on smoother. I have dry skin and this works wonders.😊

You know, I've been skipping the oil thinking that it's getting to be summer and I wouldn't "need" it but I bet it would make my skin quite happy to have some summertime oil :)

Geek Out of Water You know I have dry skin in winter and it's not as dry in summer but I still use it because it absorbs quickly and makes my foundation go on better. It has been a God send.

i have same problem area. foundation cracks and dries around my nose and chin. the only foundation that works is Mac face and body.

I wonder if you set it with a lighter translucent powder if it would have a better finish in the zones you mentioned. Did you hear anything about Jay Manuel's $38 Beauty Skin Perfector "foundation" on HSN? Silk technology promises to not settle into fine lines.

I've been really liking KVD's translucent powder lately and am now trying it with all of my foundations instead of my usual Laura Geller powders. I haven't tried it with this one but it's on my list! :-D Which will then probably become a video of its own... Ooooh I have not heard of that one - silk technology sounds fancy and fun to try!

I tried this after reading rave reviews. Not liking it at all. Applied with brush and fingers, with and without moisturizer, with and without primers (tried two different kinds - prep n prime by mac and porefessional by benefit). It is very drying, not in any way luminous and just sits on my skin and makes every pore stand out. I washed and exfoliated. I am sooo bummed. I wanted to love it. I was using NARS and MAC and will go back after visiting the luxe world of GA :(

Same here🥴…I’m forcing myself to like this one, all the hydration and prep included. Too much noise and ‘uhh-aahh’ for such a terrible product. I’m sticking to my beloved NARS sheer glow and the tinted moisturiser, as well as IT cc Cream for winter.

I am def curious if you figure out a way to make some of these foundations work better for you. Like a diff primer or moisturizer, etc. I'm sure you have a huge list of videos to put out but if you find a time where your thinking what should my next video be, what about a video that goes over some of your first impressions of foundations where you sort of liked them but then over time found a great way to make them perform really well and ended up really liking them. I'd love that! For me the IT CC cream wasn't a good foundation for me at first but after 3 months of trial and error I found a few secrets to make it work for me and it's now my favorite one. A good title could be, FOUNDATIONS I THOUGHT I DIDNT LIKE, idk but you get it right:)

FiftyPlusBeauty yes:) I hope this makes sense. what I do is spray my face w Milani setting spray after I moisturizer. Then I put a very very thin layer of maybelline age rewind concealer on my nose and apples of my cheeks cuz they show red sometimes and I can't get the cc cream to stay on my nose. Then I put the CC cream on and spray w the same setting spray in areas like my forehead then I take my damp beauty sponge and pat my forehead while setting spray was still wet. Then I do the same thing on a cheek then the other til I'm done. Then I put the rest of my makeup on and I spray again and pat with my sponge again in areas. I use a brush to put on my cc cream but then I pat the setting spray w a sponge like I mentioned earlier. I hope that helps. I've recently bought the NYX base spray and have been using that before I put foundation on. I do like it as well but you def can't saturate your face a lot before you put your foundation on as it seems to break it apart for some reason. So if you try that use it lightly as a base.

This is off topic, but I wonder how that Artis brush is working for you. For a while there was so much hype around this kind of brush, but I really don't see them used much at all any more.

You know, I love it - but I love the dupes I've got for it almost as much. The best part of the Oval 7 is the shape. None of the dupes work quite as well in terms of shape, and some dupes don't work as well after they've been washed (the O Wow brush from Amazon, for example). The The Lagure brush from Amazon, the Crown paddle brush (last month's Boxycharm, but can be bought on its own), and the Moda holographic set from Walmart are probably my favorite dupes but I haven't washed them yet to know how well they hold up.

I want to buy this or the Charlotte Tilbury and I am so glad you used shade 3 as it has been really difficult to find a swatch of that one and no stores in my area sell Armani 😭 Sephora's scanner..... I really want to try the foundation from Stellar cosmetics but I don't know how "fair" any of the shades really are. What is your favorite moisturizer for summer? Hope you have a lovely day!

I go between Clarins HydraQuench ($$$$) and Garnier Skin Active Clearly Brighter (drugstore). With the Clarins, I have to go over it with more sunscreen because SPF15 is not enough for me in the summer. But the texture of it is so nice and it's just enough moisture for summertime.

Another thought... I've got the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation and while I like it, I like this one more. Magic is kind of mediocre in terms of settling into lines and such. I've got an older video of it (I should probably go back and re-do some of my older foundation reviews now that I have a specific format of things I'm looking for!) but I don't reach for the CT very often.

I've ordered from Beautylish a few times and have been very happy with their customer service! I will keep in mind that they've got chat - I haven't used that yet but it sounds like they're very responsive. Samples are the best way to know! I'm usually so impatient I just buy things and hope for the best... and then end up with a lot of things I don't really love.

It's definitely yellow undertone, yes! I think what happens is when I get a little sun on my arms, my body does look slightly yellow undertone. I much prefer pink undertone and my winter skin is cool, but I'm so close to neutral that I vary either way. I try to not get any sun but always manage to get a little. I doubt this one would work for me mid-winter when I'm as pale as possible, but the next shade down was too light for having gotten a little sun. I bet a mix of the two would be spot on.
