Welcome to another plant haul video where I show you my #Calathea #collection that I have gathered over the years. This is NOT a care video but just a visual tour of the ones I own. I do have a few more that I have kept at my brothers place. I'll may be show them in another video but for now, sit back and bring along your cup of tea as we go through my collection of 18 Calatheas. Enjoy!

I purchased 4 calatheas recently, about 3-4 weeks ago. I paid $6-$9 for 3 of them (all in 6-8 inch pots) at Home Depot, and $26 for a rattlesnack calathea (6 inch pot) at Bachman's. All are doing well, BUT they DO NOT like much light. If your leaves are bending or twisting, it is trying to get away from the light. They are definitely lower light plants. Also, I water them only with spring water ( they do NOT like chlorine and I can't find a water filter that actually removes chlorine, ONLY removes taste of chlorine). Another important care tip is to mist the plants daily or every two days, they like high humidity. AND, do not let soil get to dry. They do not tolerate drying out. If the soil gets to dry the plant may not recover. When you water, do not OVERWATER, but they do like moist soil. Also, if you have dogs or cats, these plants are SAFE for those pets. This is nice to know. I learned how to care for calatheas from various web sites. If not for those web sites that actually gave specific instructions on calathea care, my plants might be dead right now. I think that one of the really good sites was by a guy named Dave, not sure. Will try to look it up and let you know. Also, I have gotten MANY beautiful plants for $5-$15 at Home Depot, Walmart, Menard's, Aldi and Bachman's.

For watering, I boil water, let it cool and have had absolutely no problems with it. Maybe give it a try so you dont have to keep buying water. Also great tips! Thanks!

Absolutely beautiful.. 😍 Calathea are my absolute favorite.. Nothing can beat them when it comes to beauty and foliage.. Though they are little finicky and they don't love me that much.. 🙃😁 But I'm learning gradually how to keep them happy.. Thanks for sharing.. It helps..

Exactly, they're like normal leaves in daytime, in night they stand-up straight during Night-time 😂 The purple shade in the leaves is joyous to see.

Another tip, I read that leaves "getting crispy" is due to a lack of humidity. Try misting with spring water or misting with at least filtered water. Get a misting bottle that provides a fine mist.

Awesome and mind-blowing Calathea plants❤️... I loved your Triostar and also got one in the beginning of this year, it's was growing good but it didn't make through the summer and eventually died...

Orbofolia are my favorites. I waited full year before I found one. Paid too much money to get it from online store killed it. But then 6moths later found a starter plant that thank god is doing well. Live seeing new leafs sprout

Good afternoon . I too am a big lover of plants. What ever hobbies I hsve I put my heart into it. I really liked your collection of Calathea plants. I too have a decent collection of calatheas. But the ones which are really hard and slightly easy to maintain. I have other indoor plants too. I hsve all these collections on two of my living room box grills. Made a artificial lawn with grass and arranged all my plants in steps up and some down.with a nice collection of pots. I have 2 white swan planter cum pot.i have changed the look of the swans with my creativity .I have planted the red leaf aglonema in them. I wish I could send you my 2 small videos. I have named my garden The amazon rain forest tropical garden paradise. Seeing is believing.

This is the first video from you I have watched...and I loved it! I have 14 Calatheas and like yours, some do better than others. I purchased a small White Fusion several months back that was doing very well. I’d always heard they were hard to grow. One week ago I woke up to a dead plant! It’s like it just decided it didn’t want to live anymore. Anyway...great channel, I’m now a subscriber 😊

What an absolutely beautiful collection. My Orbifolia looks very similar to yours, but only 1 leaf. I have only just found your channel, I have subscribed now so that I don't miss anything. I will enjoy watching all your videos. I have only just ventured into indoor plants, love the Calatheas, but only taking it slowly so I can learn how best to keep them in my home. Lovely collection! For my Calatheas I usually either use a self watering pot, or a wick and a water reservoir, and they grow really well. I hope this helps with the few that are struggling for you

only this year i got interested in the vegetation of my forest and was surprised that some of the presented plants are growing under the trees like c. majestica ,c. picturata and fishbone plants. just recently i bought from a nursary some c. rufibarba and also the zebra plant. now i got hooked on these plants !

Calatheas is nice to own it. Slowly later after 2 months they became weak n browned on leafs even keeping indoors n sparingly watering n well drained soil. I spent a lots to get them as I am attracted to it folding n in praying position during night time. I came to know not all foreign plants suits to indian climate. Red vein was my favourite.
