How does a blood pressure measuring device works? In this 2-week project, GEEN1400 students dissect such a device and describe how sensing, actuation, computation and manufacturing works.
Part 1: Sensing. What does a blood pressure monitor actually sense and what are the sensors it uses?
Part 2: Actuation. How does the blood pressure monitor inflate the cuff and why?
Part 3: Computation: How does the blood pressure monitor compute systolic and diastolic pressure?
Part 4: Manufacturing: How is the blood pressure monitor device manufactured? How to prototype a PCB, the plastic case etc.
