He didn't make Gojo the main character because he wanted make something different. In Shonen Manga Mc gets stronger by fights until he becomes strongest or is already overpowered ( it's common). Gege wanted something Different that's why he didn't choose Yuta or Gojo but instead choose Yuji ( A Weak Character, Who still isn't that much strong)
