Toyally agree. The fact that both made it to the final is awesome. They are both very talented. They both have the visuals, Ghelee is sexy and sweet; Eliza is cute and sunny. But they both have great vocals and compliment each other. I think it is also smart to have reps from the Philippines bc they will definitely get plenty of support outside of Korea. I agree about hyoyeon’s pov in judging gehlee, very sm coded. For exampl as an ELF, I can say that Choi Siwon wasnt the best at performing but he can sing and act as a visual. But through the years, he improved bit by bit.

Just like Younha said. No one is like Gehlee when it comes to aura. And Hyoyeon confirms that, that she's too charismatic just by standing and doesnt do anything.

And her dancing isn't even that bad, I mean, Hyoyeon is pushing the narrative to put her higher, Hyo is the dancer here. They also know you cant teach charisma. That's why they were so torn.

She only started to improve on their vocal performance in which you can see that her stiffness is lessened, moves are still constricted, but overall she was able to perform in such an elegant way. I gotta say she’s pretty ok now for idol dancing. I agree on the rest

@@heavensky8706 Most Korean idols can't really sing, they don't really focus on singing dynamics and techniques but rather image branding and visuals. Also, in terms of singing, they don't use original voice, more like auto-tune and they have the same style of hitting the notes. I noticed that when they wanted a high note, it didn't sound like they were using breathing control and that sometimes the way they sing sounds like they are shouting in a thin squeaky voice. It feels like they are just covering a song. That's why the expectation is different from reality. In the studio, their voices are edited too much so when they sing in live it's a lot different.

You can pretty much tell when they show recording sessions before production how throaty they sound most of the time then suddenly it becomes clean on stage. I'm sure there are actually good ones out there like sejeong for example but they're a minority bc even their speaking voices are nasally and drawing strength from the throat.

But if a Korean has good visual singing at their front, they like it even though they sing averagely and, at worst, they lyp syncing or use auto-tune in concert. Kpop is not that big in the west; I just realized they are big in some Asian countries, especially the Philippines, when I see the data of the highest listener per country of KPOP, and I am disappointed at how the heck Filipinos with lots of great singers and a high standard of singing are in love with KPOP music when in fact we are better than them in singing. But I guess we need to adopt, but I don't know how because Filipinos don't want to support PPOP, even though they make great music.
