Hello Beautiful People!
This summer I have been trying out some new & new to me gels for my type 4 hair. Some have been hits and some have been misses. I wanted to give you a summary/ roundup of all the gels I have tried and my thoughts on them. Which ones give you definition, hold, and shine? And which gels should you leave at the store? I LOVE the Bee Girl. I wanted to love Uncle Funky’s Daughter but I can’t get the water to product ratio right. Sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn’t. That BEE CURL curling custard is nothing but the truth! Super shiny and lots of hold! The crunch can be decreased by diffusing or banding! Great video!

I’ve seen people pair Amika Curl Corps cream as their leave in underneath the Innersense gel and it came out well.

I tried every gel you listed and I for flakes with innersense and treluxe. I have the Bee girl but haven’t used that one yet. Good video and I pray you are enjoying your vacation and bae

I use the miche beauty leave in, the treluxe 4 in 1 cream supreme, and the I create hold on top. I apply the leave in and put a plastic cap on my hair for 10 mins because it help hold the moisture in from the leave in. I spritz my hair with the mist bottle on each section and I apply the 4 in 1 and innersense gel together. My hair last for a week. I also use the treluxe leave in sometimes if I do not use the miche beauty leave in.

Love this! I ordered the kurltini based on your wash n go video. Waiting on it to come in. I have Innersense but haven’t tried it yet. Now I gotta get my hands on Bee Girl. I’m excited to try these. I’m new to WNGs but it’s been fun trying stuff while I’m still working from home 😂 my kinky tresses gel and mousse came Friday! I can’t wait to see if you try it for us!

I've only tried the Nature's Little Secret Okra Curl Defining Gel from the ones you mention. Innersense, Bee Girl and Kurl-tini are on my 'To-try' list 😉 thanks for the rundown. I like your talking videos also so keep them all coming ☺

@@NJEberhart so I purchased the Innersense and tried it on a test section of my 'few day old' WNG and the way my hair INSTANTLY clumped into formation, I was SHOOKETH! 🤯

The boho braids are cute. I hope you are enjoying your vacation.💜 I've only used the ICH and Treluxe gels. ICH I have to be very careful with because I get way to much hold. If I just use two pumps over UFD for my entire head with lots of water it isn't too bad. Treluxe, for me, is great and doesn't flake. However, I see several other ladies besides you threw it away because it flaked.

Oooooooh! Nisha I can't to try that NLS okra gel! I got mine in the mail last week, I just can't wait, I love me some NLS. And it's not a gel but, treluxe untie the knot leave in with the 4 n 1 hydrating creme is the bomb and do get some crunch, I think it's a medium it's a medium hold. I Also like the gentle cleansing rinse from treluxe is good. Tfs, see you on the next one 🥰

Kinky curly knot today (generously) under I create hold is one of my favorite combos. I apply KCKT on soaking wet hair the ICH right after.

I’m already on my second bottle of I Create Hold! This is the strongest hold gel I’ve ever tried! I pair it with the I Create Volume and Deva curl super cream

I used to do wash n’ goes when j just went natural, but stopped doing them cause my hair took ages to dry! Might try them again.

hey Nicole 💕 I would say def get a hooded dryer. Does to have to be a fancy one but that really helps vs air drying or defusing for my hair. Thanks for watching ☺️

Thanks girl, i love the video! It was super helpful. I will definitely be trying the bee girl, kurl-tini, and the curls and potions gel. I am not a wash n go girl. The detangling after a wash n go is a nightmare for me so i have abandoned that entirely. However, i am excited to see how these gels work for a twist out. Looking forward to the combo video.

i feel the same way! i’m still very much a wash n go girl but i have to cut back significantly bc that detangling process is torture 😩 but i’ve just recently considered using gels for twists or braids and i’m excited to see the outcome

@@melindalynette Girl I abandon that wash and go as my hair got longer. It's too much detangling. I discovered I can use the gels, put something very moisturing under it and still set the wash and go look. Majority of the butters and cream on the market do nothing for my hair so I use gels.

Great video! I’ve been looking for a wetline gel replacement that is natural and not so drying. Which would you recommend that give similar wetline results?

Thank you so much ☺️ I def recommend Jello-shot gel by ecoslay. That is by far my favorite gel and it has amazing ingredients and isn't drying at all. I should have a favorite wash n go combos coming soon.

I understand with the treluxe gel. I got flakes with it too. My second time I used it with a leave in and oddly enough I didn’t get flakes.

Spritz some water on the I Create Hold once you put it in your hair and it will give you moisture. Emulsifying it in your hands first along w/water will give it the slip you want. The treluxe gel did not work for me either. Kurl-Tini is on my list.

I'm currently trying the TreLuxe gel, and I'm so torn. I used only a little bit in my sections with Camille Rose's coconut water leave-in and got amazing definition and hold with zero flakes. BUT...the smell is so strong to me. It hits you as soon as you open the jar, and I don't know if I can take it. Do any of the other gels have lighter smells? I need something with good hold that isn't so fragrant.

Hey Jocelyn 💕 To be honest, I don't even remember how it smells. Bee girl custard smells like paint in the jar but does not smell like that on your hair. The others have a faint smell. Thanks for watching ☺️

I have only just tried these gels this summer and have not done many twist outs lately. I have used Kurl-tini for a twistout before though.

Have you tried curl maker with your ice ware hold create hold?I think I remember you saying you loved curl maker with wetline, maybe you’ll get similar results? I was disappointed in NLS gel. It didn’t perform well for me for wash n go. I felt like it had too much oil, maybe it’ll be better for a twists/twist out on damp hair. Based on your top picks, I might try the kurltini gel. TFS!

Same here: The NLS okra gel did not do my hair well. It was like oily glue on my hair. I was soooooo hopeful that it would work because it has okra like Ecoslay Jello Shot does. Kurltini was not good on my hair. So far, Ecoslay Jello Shot and The Doux Bee Custard do my hair best . . . and I've tried scores and scores of gels. A cheap, less healthy gel that works for me is Eco Style Black Castor and Flaxseed gel.

I wouldnt use i create hold alone on my hair. Too me, its best used as a topper gel. I love the gel tho.

Kurltini for the mf win🤩🤩🤩 I luv it..my twist out was poppin..forsure a staple. I bought bee girl recently can't wait to try And as always I enjoy your videos
