It depends on the source of gelatin. It’s source can be porcine ( pork) or bovine ( cow) or vegetable.

As per my thought the product itself and the byproducts of banned items should be avoided from eating. The reason for this thought is that, for a specific community fishing was banned on Saturday, however they tried to be clever and closed the water system on Friday (I guess). This stupidity of theirs' was noted and mentioned forever in The Quran. That is the reason I think byproducts of forbidden products should also be put in the forbidden list. Secondly in the things we have doubt should also be avoided as per Hadith.

Assalam o alaikum. JazakAllahkhair for explaining how to approach this problem from a religious point of view with the use of common sense in my opinion. This problem is faced every day life some times in taking capsules or other vitamin and supplement drinks and some times in cosmetics or maybe in vaccines injections...Muslims are often confused and keep on asking same question over and over again Allahpak app ko shaad o abaad khair o Affiyah se rakhen.Ameen.

Salam, It really doesn’t make any sense because no matter how much you change the composition of an extraction from pork it still carries the DNA of pork.. it will always remain the protein that is extracted from pork. Even when we cook the meat, it changes the composition of it as fat levels in the meat drastically decrease, if we stay consistent on your premise then we can say specific way of cooking pork meat changes its composition drastically therefore we can have its meat this way.

In cooked meat yes DNA does remain. But different processes change the composition differently too. For example using a pig carcass to fertilize a fruit tree. Even though the nutrients the fruit is deriving is from the pig but the fruit it bears is obviously not Haram as fertilizer materials in general are things we are forbidden to eat in the first place (Manure etc) and the pig carcass itself will be broken down at a molecular (including DNA) level by the plant and be used as raw nutrients as from any other nutritient source by the plant to provide sugars etc to the fruit. Hence Real question is that will DNA also remain in the gelatin form 🤔.

Exactly. And beyond that, no normal person will go and lab test pork gelatin each time before eating to check the "chemical composition." Best answer is to refer to Hadith: If there is doubt in something, stay away from it

Sorry sir absolutely not main kabhi istemal nahi karunga jo chiz apni buniyad se hi haram hai to uski har tarah ki process se convert ki hui chiz bhi haram hogi chahe usko aap jitna bhi process kar le uski chemical composition kitna bhi change kar le kitna hi usko dilute kar le but uski asal 'nass' to wahi hai isiliye absolutely not Anjane me shayad kar le but agar ye jan le ki isme wo chiz istemal hui hai jo apni buniyad se hi haram karar de diya gaya hai tab kabhi bhi istemal nahi karunga chahe usko process karte karte jis form me bhi convert kar diya gaya ho I m from India

Hassan bhai if I’m not mistaken Fat is used to make Glycerin while Bones are used to extract Gelatine. Gelatine is already present in bones and attached tissue in an animal. It is extracted through cooking process hence is not something that changes its properties or chemical composition when derived. Second thing is we should not even consider it if it is derived from pig. On the other hand shouldn’t we consider that it is derived from Zabiha/Halal animal when we talk about the source being Bovine?!🧐

Goat Zoological name Caprini aegagrus is a member of the animal family Bovidae and goat is closely related to the sheep not to pig . Pigs along with wild boars and hogs belongs to the animal family Suidae.Members of this family are called suids. So that on Zoological norms there is no any genetic or speciesical or family relation between goat and pig .

You missed the whole point. That wasn't the question. The question was for layman people, whether it's more related to herbivores or omnivores or both. In this case, someone can think of them as related to herbivores. So Allah rabul ezzat made the clarification for common folks. Not a zoologist, but they belong to suborder of Suina which are omnivores and therefore haram by definition.

This video could have been 1 min long. Because it's simple: Pork or Porcine gelatin = haram. Fish gelatin = halal. Beef/other gelatin = depends on slaughter method

Slaughter method doesn't matter when the thing being Slaughtered is halal. For us Muslims we do the way as we are told. But in western world when animal is Slaughtered not the way we were told so we can just recite the takbeer as it is done while being Slaughtered.

This issue was raised in Sindh High Court in 1980 and there had been lengthy arguments by scholars from every school of thought and finally the Court held it Halal. For your information there is dog bone also in the ingredients.

My question, with respect, is if some food is processed though using shits and animal wastes , and output becomes pure, clean and not harmful for the health then it should be the same as the processed fats of a pork.?

Then it could have had been extracted from some other content. I this you can also just cook porks meat and the chemical changes caused by cooking it will also be supported from eating thus all pork related contents knowing that a pig has been used must be comdemned haram.

Why are you creating doubts in people's mind saying that if the chemical composition has been changed then pork gelatin can be used. Only gelatin made from halal animals, who have been slaughtered following islamic way is halal. Not every beef gelatin is halal forget about the pork gelatin. You didn't say exactly that pork gelatin is halal but they way you have explained everything, will create doubts.

I beg to disagree. Porcin gelatin should be discourage because it does not change its derived effect thru manufacturing process specially when other animal's gelatin is available in the market that does not creat this issue. Jews also prohibit porcin gelatin in food products. Please research further. Thank you. Tauqir Hussain

I think the logic or reasoning that the processing changes the nature of animal fat while making gelatine doesn't make sense. Even coking meat is a chemical process/change so this logic doesn't make any sense. So in my view. gelatine sourced from pig is as haram as the meat or fat of Pig, thanks

Brother, in UK, the water that people drink is the waste water that is chemically treated. It included people's urin and every kind of waste. Muslims including scholars from all iver the world who live or vidit UK drink this same water. Let aline 10 mil of urin in 100 mil of water, this pure urin is treated so expertly that it becomes even purer than so called mineral water being sold in Pakistan.
