Probably the best version of this incredible piece. Emotive, heart wrenching and dramatic. Her voice was made for this and she clearly put her heart into it. If only Antonio could witness the fabulous Bartoli performing it.

I heard this without knowing, what she is singing about and was left in tears, helplessly deeply touched... the sotto voce part is from another world.... 10.20 I listen and get lost in her infinitely deep sorrow. She´s divine.

Vivald, the first pop music composer. Sometimes also a metal music composer (like in winter, Four Seasons). In this opera, an extreme dramatic composition, he makes the most strong, acid, sweet and harmonic mixage of feelings in only one scene. A genious. The early middle years imho are the best. No frosting on the cake. Just engaged in the role, with the audience breathless over her gift shared with the fortunate them. I think that this is one of the most heartbreaking music pieces that I have listen to. Feelings is overflowing through Cecilia Bartoli's mouth , and so we are able to feel like a bereaved mother. Her cry is real and show us her impotence. Great performance!

WOW! especially the part between 3:44 and 4:50 - I saw her many times live and had the privelege to speak with her. She is a real amazing and kind person. Also when she speaks she has a very powerfull voice though very female.
