I’ll rate this Gemini Turkish A350-900 in 10 categories.
This model comes with Gemini’s traditional standard black box design. The foam offers very good protection to the model. I’ll give a 9. This model comes with magnetic gear and a display stand. While the main gear door covers are very well made, this Turkish’s nose gear door can’t perfectly fit into the slot, and therefore has a large gap like this. It looks quite awkward. The plane looks very great in cruising mode on the stand. I’ll give a 7.
This Gemini mould is better than the one used by Inflight200 and WB. I like the curve at the bottom a lot. The angle of the cockpit and the change of angle at the base of the cockpit, the sharpness of the upper nose, and the profile at the forehead are all very realistic. The round belly, the tail and tail cone shape looks very close to the real things too. Shortly after the first batch of A350s entered service, Airbus added some upgraded features that affected the look of planes, including a pair of taller and slimmer sharklets. To me, it looks like this Turkish indeed comes with the upgraded sharklets. I’ll give an 8.
This pair of Rolls Royce Trent XWB engines are very realistic. The fan blades are spinnable. It has see-through core. And the titanium colouring looks very realistic. I’ll give a 9. The wings and horizontal stabilizers are very well attached. The two engines are well aligned, and have very good ground clearance. The seam between the vertical stabilizer and the fuselage is almost invisible. I’ll give a 9 for build.
It’s easy to put on the gears. The size of the nose gear is correctly made. The gear legs and joints are well made. The wheel hubs are really detailed. The main gears can tilt. I’ll give a 9. The major aerials, navigation lights, and SATCOM are well made by inserted parts. The APU exhaust is better made than the one of JC SAS that we unboxed in another video. It correctly omits the 3 pitot tubes right in the middle. This is another upgraded feature of the newly made A350s, including this Turkish. Yet there are no inserted landing lights on the wings or on the nose gear leg. I’ll give an 8.
The Turkish livery is accurately reproduced here. All titles and logos come with the correct size and in the right positions. The silver tulip marking is very beautiful. It has Turkish’s title and logo on the belly. I’ll give a 9.
The white and red paints applied on this model are very sharp. But because of the presence of the bright red background, the white portion of the logo on the tail is a bit reddish. I’ll give an 8. This batch of Gemini A350 models are the first edition ever released. I’m pretty sure soon they will have new editions available to replace them. So, I’ll give this a 7.
I’ll give this Turkish A350 a total of 83 points in my ARAIG Index.
