Thank you so much for being one of the only reviewers I've seen to mention the internal storage on the transmitters. I don't know why everyone else seems to have failed to mention this very important feature.

Thanks for the review. I've watched lots of them. I plan to order one for the current price if $179, or possibly wait for a sell. Two things I'd like to see: 1. Blank, non-logo, or customizable button transmiiter covers. 2. rotating coldshoe attachment on the rsceiver.

Love the ability to connect to phone or computer. I'm hearing some clipping with low noise reduction, and digital artifacts with high reduction. Nice review - looking forward to the comparisons because I'm in the market for my first wireless mic.

I think I’ll wait for the next DJI iteration. The engineering at DJI is top notch quality in term of design, and the fact that this one picks a lot from the DJI is telling a lot. Now DJI please, Noise Reduction, included lavs in the box or better electric noise shielding on the receiver, don’t change anything else. The size of the DJI receiver is better for an action cam. The rounded shape and the Colors are not for everyone.

As always, very insightful. I have what I think might be a useful issue for your next wireless comparison video. Since many budget filmmakers prefer to hide lavs connected to transmitters, or use a small lapel lav for interviews, it would be great to know which systems have the least issues with low levels, noise and interference from using lavs, like is apparent with DJI. I was told by a user of the AnkerWork M650 that it has a bizarre issue with the Tascam lav he tried where the signal from one transmitter was being picked up on both channels of the receiver, with the setting specifically set to stereo. Yet without the lav, the M650 split the channels properly. If that's true with other lavs as well, it would make this system unusable for a budget filmmaker, and a better choice for vloggers, youtubers, etc. who don't necessarily mind seeing a transmitter stuck to their clothes. So even if you don't want to explore this, it's worth mentioning so that us budget filmmakers using lavs will be fore warned that they should probably do some extra research or try different lavs on their own to see what's actually compatible with AnkerWork M650.

Thanks, as always, for the thorough review. You have the cutest little co-host for demo-ing a second mic! The Ankerwork system seems fine, but it is not a competition killer. What would I do with a third mic set? Rode and DJI are working great for me.

Le voy al Anker, el producto suena demasiado de bien para que no se califique como professional. Para mí lo es y las comparaciones que he visto de otros mics con el DJI es sólo audio y la versatilidad de poder configurar tus decibeles en el mismo dispositivo sin tener que usar una PC, mas su distancia que es más y la batería es mas duradera, pero por 100 dólares menos. Anker tiene todas esas características casi al mismo nivel. Me encantan tus videos!

Nice for competition, but DJI is the only one that doesn't depend on an app to pull the recordings out, which is a big deal, and I'm yet to see someone add the option for a micro sd card instead of internal. Memory, that'd be a true universal wireless mic. Thanks for the review Susie 😎👍👍

@@MrCoco2344 actually there are non-brandname recorders in the market that record directly to micro sd card, but their solution is still a bit clunky and half-baked in my opinion. However that's the direction I hope the industry will move towards to. I also want to see no dependance on apps for core functionality, or any functionality at all, and I'm a much bigger fan of replaceable batteries than internal batteries. For now I have a Hollyland wireless mic (from before the internal storage days) and yet I have my Zoom H1n as backup when needed. 😎👍

Noise reduction sounds horrible and using an app is a dealbreaker for me. Love the ease of use and the small form factor of my Dji mic.

Nice! I see you said 7 hours of recording time but what I’m trying to find out is which audio codec is it and is it compressed or uncompressed. Also from that information, I’m trying to figure out how much that equates to in file size storage [gigabytes]. I just got one to test yesterday so if I figure this out before you, I’ll let you know.

@@Gemini_Connect AnkerWork should be printed in the clip of the transmitter and not on the face pointing to the camera. (the same goes for Rode and DJI) For me that kills the sale. if they are going to use the buyer as a billboard, they should give away the mic for free.... That's why I always use a lav mic.

Have you noticed any sync issues with the onboard recordings and the M650? I was about to pickup the DJI Mics until there was reports of onboard audio recordings being out of sync. Thanks.

I just bought my first Go pro and didn't even know it does not have a port for an external mic. So now I have to buy the media part and then a wireless mic. I think all 3 here are overpriced, how about doing a comparison on a $100 -150 priced wireless mic.

I just ordered a pair because i was curious. Question... is there a way to get it to automatically start recording internally after I take it out of the case? It seems like you have to manually enable it each time. Also, can you disable the button on the unit from muting the device? There isn't any scenario where I would ever want the mic muted and don't want to press it by accident.

i kinda like how it's a circle because no one can really tell it's a microphone. The noise reduction sounds weird in my opinion. It's prob better to record with it off and use the resolve plugin.

I agree. Any noise reduction if any is best done in post. The only reason I'd use it is if using the mic on a Zoom call.

Microphones look excessively large, excessive plastic. Don't need to be round for rotating. Makes the case large too. Also, at that high price, going to be tough for Anker to compete with establised microphone companies like Rode and DJI.

I admire Anker for taking a unique design angle, but I also agree that the wireless mic space is fiercely competitive at the moment. We'll see how they do!

@@Gemini_Connect hope they do alright. Guess I was a little dissapointed to see Anker not making it more compact, which is what they are well known for. I have three of their 65 watt power adapters because nobody has rivaled them for output/size. As you say, let's see.

Great Review. Im glad you mentioned Wired mics as I never use the built in mics.. (if I can avoid it) This recorder market Is getting crazy.. I got to test the 7RYMS system and it has alot of the same features but lacks the touch screen and has to use a special cable to get the recorded audio if needed. (I actually own 2 sets of these) I am looking at this one and it will be my next mic thats for sure.

You can use a wired lav mic and avoid wearing the transmitter. But yes, I agree that the branding could be more subtle.

At this point all wireless mics have l nearly the same designs and features. The Hollyland Lark 150 came out before the DJI Mic and looks very very similar…
