Today, we are going to provide you with several muzzleloader load development tips and tricks to assist you during your next range day!
Load development presents a fun challenge with any rifle, however, muzzleloaders add many other uniquely interesting elements to this process. Consistent packing, barrel fouling, and correct powder measurements are just a few of these.

Thanks for the insight, in the process of developing a load for my Accura LRX. using 777- at 90gr by weight CCI MZL primer Hornady Bore Driver... so far so good. I started out at 72.5 gr by weight. Was shooting six to eight inches low at 100yds. Had to adjust my peep sight all the way past the hashmarks when it dawned on me to up my powder charge. At 90 gr by weight i am shooting about 8 in high at a 100 yd. now able to move my peep sight back down. On my TC Pro Hunter, 777-80gr by weight- CCI MZL Primer Bore Driver peep sight is just past center going up. Still have a way to go but getting there. i picked up some Pyro Select that i will be trying out after i get squared away with the 777. Been reloading since 2000, 243 thru 338 Rum. Can honestly say that im really enjoying Black Powder!!!! Purchased the Anarchy Brake and Powder funnel today. Cheers!

I would like to make a correction. In reviewing my targets i am shooting 4 inch high at a hundred using 90gr 777. i can begin to bring my peep sight down. Hoping to get it to the center as i increase the charge to 100gr. Cheers!

My Traditions G4 likes 100grains of triple 7 loose powder and my Buckstalker likes 90grains. Both shooting the 300grain Hornady sst or Blue diamond 305grain.

Be nice to get more BH209 back in to play with loads. After shooting and not having to clean, it’s hard to back to 777 or other like powders.

White hot pellets are really clean and they always have them in stock at Cabela's near me. Costs a little more than t7 but way cheaper than bh209.

I have a CVA Optima V2 50 cal LR nitride rifle. I done as much research. As i could come across with blackhorn and hornady 250gr sst. I started with 84grs of blackhorn by weight. 100 yds a 3 shot group measure 1/2 group. I lucked on to that load. That setup has killed 3 deer this yr. Gun season is fixing to start. I am planning on hunting with my muzzle loader. I like muzzle loader hunting the best. I been looking at the CVA Accura LR x either in 45 or 50 . I would like to have a 45 cal. But i have a bunch of stuff for 50 cal.

Most accurate and cost effective I've found for my wolf v2 is Hornady xtp 200gr with harvester crushed rib sabot on 90 grains of t7. I haven't tried on deer yet cause I just bought the rifle around March of this year. At 100 yds I'm shooting 1/2" to 3/4 groups. At 50 my shots were all touching each other. It was pretty windy tho last weekend so my groups could have been slightly better since the target was moving quite a bit. Gonna try a heavier bullet and bump my charge up 10 hrs this next weekend and see what I'm getting.
