This was too heartbreaking for me to finish watching. I grew up in that Musser/Thelmo house and had no say when someone decided to sell it without even letting us actual heirs know until the deed was done. Several films and TV shows were shot there like Shake Rattle & Roll, Probinsyano, Ikaw Lang. Biglang Sibol Bayang Imposible, Ikaw Lamang. Thanks for telling this story and sharing it.

I remember the Musser Thelmo house in Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo teleserye and I love the architecture of the house. It is sad that beautiful old houses are inconsiderately torn down for modernization. Philippine government should restores historical places not just for tourism sake. It is our heritage and showed how prosperous and elegant the Filipino culture before. Old and new should go hand in hand to progress.

This is unbearable to watch. It saddens me to know that houses like this is being discarded like trash. I hope that some good philantropist or some private groups will put something useful to this just to save these wonderful structures from the brink of demolition. However, in reality the owner is the one who casts the dice. Very, very depressing. Used to have weekend lunch with the Thelmos way back 1996-97. Don’t why why the 200-year old Thelmo house was not declared a historical, protected one when Mrs. Thelmo, a graduate of Ateneo Law school and the husband Atty. Thelmo we’re not able to pursue the declaration. Mrs. Thelmo died way back August 2002.
