In this Video We wanted to share a couple quick things about the New Keith Black Aluminum Hemi. We go over the oiling restrictors that you must install in this engine and check a few clearances.

Thankyou very much! After Calling Tim Banning for pointers he was able to assist us so we could share. These Blocks are very High Quality. We didn't have to do much other than what Tim Recommended.

In 1975 I built a 383 for my 69 Road Runner and we put an .080 groove on the oiler journal instead of just have the two oiler holes. It worked great for me. It's too bad you have so many shipping restrictions.

I have 3 words for you,,, Tapered set screws... Aluminum will shrink substantially with heat,, and Blue loctite is not adequate to hold the non-tapered brass set screw when the block shrinks. Don't ask me how I know. Use a tapered set screw next time with a drop of grren loctite, which is a wicking compound, Meant for set screws and mainly for brass at that. Good luck with your build as it looks great...

Thanks for the input. Before I did this video, I personally talked to Tim Banning on the phone about all of this ( he is the architect to the redesigned KB Block) and got the exact threaded parts, just not over the Canadian border. The threads in the block only go 1/2 inch down the hole. the blue was to keep them from pushing up towards the gasket, the restrictors cannot go anywhere regardless. What engine do you have that made you have an issue?

You should hand drill those restrictors or do them in a small lathe. I have a small hand drill for drilling out jets.

Great video, very helpful! The Moroso kit #22016 comes with 4 o'rings. You show 2 left in the kit, so do you use 2 of the 4, or none at all and if so where? Thanks

As per Tim Banning... no orings on the restrictors ..there was no instruction sheet with the block so we found out after the plugs kept ripping the o rings on install...we called Tim and he said not to use them

@@ES4406 now is there a way to do an actual 426 hemi engine from a Kieth Black engine block for a standard Mopar muscle car and not a drag strip car? Like a daily driver. Thank you!

Hello Luke - Sorry It took be a bit to get the info, Stage V heads take NGK #4554 or Colder #5238 at least what we use.

Mickey Mouse is 40 miles west of here if you like to go.... "Major dollar engine" is owned and run by us. Video is for people who have the KB Aluminum engine that doesn't come with a DYI guide. We have been doing hemis many years, this video was an update if you do not run bushed lifter bores on a priority main oil system.
