Its just a bracket of years, given a name. Look all stereo-types and labels, it bears some truths and hides others. The reality is that being young, they're more likely to represent the attitudes of others of their generation.

Generation is an era and helps to distinguish. Young could be anything between 1-35, that is not gen-z.

I think we need both very young and very old people in government. There just needs to be a good mix. Someone like Joe Biden should not serve while Mahathir Mohamad was well equipped to become Malaysian PM in his 90s. The same we need younger people with new ideas to open a conversation and show alternatives.

I believe the age requirement is 18, but I don't think it was set in stone until quite recently. For the longest time, it was just a general rule of thumb, and certainly by the start of the 19th century. The UK would be hypocrites, and be disregarding a lot of history, they raised the age for how old an MP or Prime Minister should be. Take William Pitt, the Younger. He was 24 when he took on the role of Prime Minister and was a phenomenal one at that. So good in fact at being Prime Minister, it basically killed him. James Dickinson in 1880, was also elected to MP at the mere age of 21. And less we forget the reigning monarch at the time, Queen Victoria, ascended to the throne at age 18. Any younger, she would've required a regency. I'd say it has more so to do with intelligence, mental acuity, and sound of mind. Since sometimes, having a person in their 80s, whose been in government for decades can be an invaluable asset for perspective. While someone whose 20, can counteract that perspective, with a fresh and current perspective.

Yet if you only choose older people as your representatives, you're not representing the entirety of the population. Younger voters will, in general, be more aligned with the thoughts of younger MPs, and they get to vote and be represented just as well as older voters. Variety is always good in representation.

You can't win with some people. Young MP's are inexperienced, old MP's are out of touch and unrepresentative, and everyone is making instant assumptions about them doing nothing and getting paid despite the fact they haven't even started yet. Just relax and make judgement when you actually have information to judge.

It's got nothing to do with age. This is a democracy and an open system. MPs get voted into parliament by the people of their constituency. So what are you arguing against? That the people should not have the right to vote for their representatives?
