If you want to see Jackie's influence on Elvis, watch the movie clip of Elvis singing "Return to Sender" from "Girls, Girls, Girls. Jackie was on set and in the audience and Elvis was playing to him and smiling at the way he was mimicking Jackie's moves. It is a beautiful thing.❤❤❤

I remember this song as his "break out" number in the late '50s, Followed by fabulous songs like "That's Why (I Love You So)", "I'll Be Satisfied" and his absolutely wild "Baby, Work Out!".

You just don't get artists like this anymore. The likes of Jackie Wilson, James Brown, Little Richard, Sammy Davis Jr., Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Chubby Checker, B.B. King, Johnny Cash, Eddie Cochran, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ritchie Valens, and of course, the King, Elvis Presley. I was definitely born in the wrong era. The 50's and 60's, but especially the 50's had the best music.

I think Michael Jackson was more influenced by Jackie Wilson in terms of a dynamic stage presence. Jackie Wilson always reminds me of my mother, and Saturday mornings cleaning the house when his records would be on and she would be dancing with the broom.

Elvis and Jackie were close friends and Jackie said that they influenced each other. He commented that most solo black singers were influenced by Presley. Elvis paid all of his hospital bills after Jackie had a massive stoke and remained in a coma for 8 years. Elvis left instructions for his estate to keep paying Jackie's hospital bills after his death in 1977. ❤

JayFlex......He was known as 'Mr. Excitement'. His dance moves were copied by James Brown and Michael Jackson. He had a fantastic voice. Please, if you can, react to Jackie singing 'Night' and 'To Be Loved'. You will see what I mean. Thanks.

There was nothing quite like Jackie. Sam Cook may have been the most important and imitated singer in the history of R&B/R&R, but Jackie was perhaps the greatest singer to come out of the early R&B/R&R era. To top it off his onstage performances were so dynamic he was called Mr. Excitement. Dick Clark called him the most talented singer he'd ever seen, and he saw all of the greats from that era. Watch his live performance of "To Be Loved", the old black and white version from the very old Ed Sullivan Show and you'll see what I mean.
