Alright, to give the young lady some context for the reason of this skit, Dave mentioned that after the black supremacist skit, someone came up to him to laud about it, slightly using the N-word in it, Chappelle reminded him that it was only a skit for laughs. But it gave him a notion that people taking it the wrong way would ruin what intentions he had for it originally. That's when he came up with the idea for a white family with a name that plays on the N-word. She said she couldn't find anything funny about this, then she laughs after Chappelle remarks about it killing him inside.

This is kind of disturbing to watch. If she finds the wrong thing funny, her peers will oust her for life. Which means she's watching a comedy skit while being terrified of the potential consequences. What a nightmare.

The kids nowadays aren't actually offended by this, they've just been programmed that things should be super PC. It's not coming from their heart at all, they're just reacting how they've been trained.
@user-ef1ly4st9t
@user-ef1ly4st9t 2 ай бұрын
Props to you dad for trying to expose your daughter to more than the pc allowed thoughts. This generation is so programmed on how to think they can't open their minds to anything but what is programmed into them. A black guy wrote the show, It isn't calling someone something racist in anger. Poking fun at racism that all races laughed at makes for common ground. There wasn't near as much tension between people then as there is now. Everyone is so uptight and offended by anything that no one is allowed a differing opinion these days without being canceled. People need to relax and just get along instead of forcing people to think and speak the mob enforced opinion.

The purpose was not humor the purpose was to explain what was wrong with society. It was offensive on puroose to shame people into stop being racist, not to normalize racism as humor. Black people get it but non blacks dont. Typical.

The thing is this skit is one of his later ones. You have to start with the first season's early episodes, and maybe catch some of Mind of Mencia to understand this subgenre. In that time period (late 2000s) it was so uncomfortable to talk about racism and race issues because it was serious and omnipresent and it just felt like a guilt lecture every time you heard it, and no one wanted to hear it regardless of what race you were. And then you would come home and turn on the tv and these two comedians were on there just breaking all that apart, not holding anything back and making fun of every racial stereotype all at once. It really bound the audience together to do that, which seems so strange because today it would be more likely to offend the audience equally. I see that you are afraid to laugh at this but that was exactly the point and why it was so entertaining, because you were not supposed to be free to laugh at race jokes in public, but here it was laid out like a buffet. But even as Chapelle Show went out they kind of ran through their smartest ideas in the first season, and by this point they were just coasting on the brand, not as creative as it used to be.

You have to learn to laugh at yourself and not take things too seriously otherwise you become bitter as you get older, it's okay to laugh, life is to short to have a chip on your shoulder, your sister did fine, woke-ness (I hate this spell check) is not a good thing.
