Poor girl is just to young & hasn’t developed an ear for good music. I agree with your comment about him & Jimi. Stevie is other worldly when it comes to talent & he was an incredible human being on top of it. Greatly missed 💔

In this song, he broke a string in the beginning, changed guitars, adjusted the amps, dropped his pick, and lost a tooth.

Sadly, I was at Stevie Ray Vaughn's last concert the night his helicopter crashed after the show at Alpine Valley, Wisconsin USA August 26th 1990. The fog was so bad after the show that we stopped and got a hotel room on the way home. The lineup was SRV, Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, Stevie's brother Jimmie and Buddy Guy. "We got one chance in this life..." RIP SRV!

Tricked you... Jimmy does not SING and Play at the same time... this is the case with most guitar players who sing. You can see an occassional rythme strum but you are not seeing anything complex while this singing is occuring... WAY too hard to do

I love how honest you two are with each other. This is such a beautiful emotional video - his speech is unforgettable (after he went through recovery and wanted to help and inspire people he started always doing a little speech in this song, it was different on different nights but always from the heart); Stevie was such a down-to-earth humble good guy, genuine great person on top of all the talent, and again so humble - he loved and Stevie was influenced so much by Jimi who came a few years before he got going and had passed in 1970, a decade before Stevie was about to get really big, so they never met or played together or anything...but Stevie would tell you himself Jimi was better than him - I don't agree, they're just different - but Stevie handed props out and ALWAYS honored his idols and showed respect (as he would also about his biggest influence, HIS older bro by 4 years, Jimmy Vaughan, also a super talented big time blues guitar player - he is Stevie's BIGGEST influence probably followed by Jimi). SRV absorbed Jimi's music along with a zillion other people, though Jimi is one of the biggest, and brought his own style to it, and he did a lot of covers of Jimi. This is such a beautiful song, and his voice sounds so great on it. I think to see another side - and there are many - to Stevie, a good song to combine the voice and guitar and less a long blues but has all the greatness, would be to listen to Stevie's cover of Jimi's "Voodoo Child." There are a bunch of videos, all sound different, my favorite is the "Voodoo Child: Live at El Mocambo" but the most popular and probably best most polished performance is "Voodoo Child: Live at Austin City Limits." Also, it is essential to do Stevie's most famous, catchy, popular song, "Pride and Joy" and you can find that best video at "Pride and Joy: Live at Montreaux." It is a change of pace, always blues - Texas Blues - but is a shorter, more rocking jam, super catchy and fun, and shows one of the many sides you will get to know of Stevie. Those 2 songs are the next best points to go to IMO. Don't worry, there are a lot more slow blues, always magic, always special - he does jazz style instrumentals, more blues/rock radio friendly tunes, but all raw straight from the soul, plays them and improvises and they are always different with each show - pure SRV HOT Texas blues! This video makes all of us emotional, I'll feel it to the day I die any time I watch it. Great reaction, love and peace//

you got the message my friend.... his song was a dedication to his friend who had passed away, his friend who gave him that white guitar he switched to for the tribute.... you can feel every ounce of emotion pouring out of that guitar, the guitar and Stevie were both crying, and then the message to boot... this performance and the message within are timeless and should be preserved and sent out in the next satellite we send into deep space.

Great reaction by one of you for sure🎸🎶‼️. You don't have to convince us of Stevie's artistry and exceptional skills. Your partner obviously can't be persuaded to have an open mind and appreciate true musicianship. I will recommend another original by Stevie created after his own rehab and recovery that he dedicates to all those still suffering in any way. It is called Riveria Paradise and performed at Austin City Limits 1989. Perhaps watch it by yourself? (BTW, this was performed at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic New Jersey not Nashville as indicated)

"No, not just OK, this is hella-nice, 11 out of 10"! That's right brother, SRV did a lot of songs that are "Hella-Nice"! Some recommendations: Pride and Joy, Leave My Little Girl Alone, Couldn’t Stand The Weather, Little Wing, Ain’t Gonna Give Up On Love, Blues At Sunrise (With Albert King). Another icon gone too early in 1990 at age 36 (Helo accident). SRV, I believe, had talent not of this world........ he was a channeled medium which allowed music to flow thru him seemleesly and endlessly anytime he played. HE WAS SPECIAL! Enjoyed your reaction, TY.

He wrote this song for his friend Charlie Wirtz who had a guitar shop in Dallas. He changed from the red to white guitar in the beginning. The white one was made for him by Charlie who passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack. I m getting a kick out of you trying to explain real talent to a child who thinks auto tune and computers is the same level of talent! And just so she knows, Stevie idolized Jimmy and covers some of his songs. He had mad respect for Jimmy

God dang, if SRV came back to life and played Riveria Paradise for her in her living room, she'd still not like him. Know this; you are watching history. To say there are a lot of guitarists that could do what he did is only part true because of imitators. When asked who is the best blues guitarist ever, BB King didn't let the question finish before he said Stevie Ray Vaughan..BB Freakin King. As far as Hendrix, he is most important guitar player ever. He changed everything. But in terms of pure playing, SRV is undoubtedly better. Full stop.

This song is about his love for his close friend and mentor Charlie Wirtz... In a very sad way it was a way for Stevie to tell the world about Charlie. Charlie orignially was mentoring Stevies brother Jimmy and through much persuation and coaxing Charlie became Stevies mentor and tech.... Sadly Stevie was taken too soon from us... He has no equal in Texas Blues.

You guys are great and this made me subscribe. Im from New Zealand and have a NZ artist who will turn you guys on especially her if she likes good singers? His name is Stan Walker and his version of Kanye Wests song Ultralightbeam will definitely turn you guys on. Please if you want a boost to your channel please react to him and message me for more of his and others stuff to react too as i have plenty for you but SRV was better than Jimmy your right. No disrespect. SRV plays Jimmys Voodoo child and was inspired originally by Jimmy Hendrix but then SRV went to another level. All of the SRV live concert in Austin Texas is amazing. RiP SRV.
