Oh boy. As a high schooler, it's only reluctantly that the word slay has crept into my vocabulary. My parents and friends make fun of me for finally caving but it is a great word. And I do occasionally use slaps, mostly when referring to musical theatre songs that... slap.

its not Gen Z slang its AAVE and im assuming you dont know what that is so I'll just tell you AAVE is African American Vernacular English

Love them but hate that my culture and words from my dialect are being paired with gen z seeing as my people created and have been using them words and terms within our dialect since the beginning.
