I’m a Gen X and when I told my now Gen z daughter that I didn’t have internet until adulthood she responded as though I’d grown up with a community well. 😂 “How did you cope?” She asked genuinely bewildered.

as a millennial i enjoy being kind of inbetween worlds; i can laugh at gen z struggling but simultaneously also find the struggle very relatable

I had a similar situation recently when I was driving 3 hours through a network deadspot and my phone was dying. First no internet, no music, then no directions, no way to call for help, no idea where I was going, and no idea where the closest gas station was. Thought I was going to have to use the giant map my parents had stuck in the car years ago, the horror 😂 EDIT: For the U.S. people thinking about buying a map, apparently you can usually get them for free by ordering them online from your state's website. I don't know if it's all states, but try it out!

Loved it when he knocked the chess pieces off the board, because the chess app needs internet connection! 😂

I also love how this wasn’t just “oh these young people don’t know how to do anything” but also a jab on how so many services required internet! Another killer, boys

Them not knowing what laser disc is but knowing vinyl because of strange reasons that brought it back is hilarious.

As someone part of Gen Z who grew up in a less technologically advanced house, this brought back a lot of nostalgia. Especially the phone book lol

I love the stock effect included at the end of every statement, even "I need a dump!" 😂

I usually dont like humor making fun of gen z, but everything in this video is accurate to me, and i couldn't stop laughing.

It's the first and only horror film I truly enjoy! What makes you special along with clever lines, superb acting and exceptional observation skills is the exquisite attention to details.

Used to teach 8 year olds, and the look of horror when I said I was born and living in the times before the internet was priceless! They'd be completely clueless on how to use old fashioned phones I'm sure of it! 🤣😂

The cinematography, back ground music, editing, acting everything is perfect.. This became my instant favourite.. ❤

In Australia we just went through a nationwide fail of one of our major carriers. Businesses had to shut because eftpos didn't work. Gen Y & some Millennials were wandering around like zombies holding their phones in their hands searching for signals. Some looked up, wide eyed and used their weak voices to ask if anyone knew what was going on. Some started conversations. Some of us older people who listen to the radio had to break the news to them. There were queues down streets to get sim cards for other phone services that work. The CEO of Optus was questioned and asked how she coped on the day. She admitted she carried a back-up phone and sim from another provider because their systems aren't 100%. They handle emergency calls in Victoria mind you and hundreds of people couldn't get through to get an ambulance. She got fired. Probably paid millions though.

Oh my god lads, I absolutely loved this! The camera work and the editing and the lighting really made it seem like a low budget horror. Something a bit different. It really is excellent. Away to watch it again!

I once had a dump in some eastern European country where there was no internet. It was horrible. Also surprisingly efficient because I was done in 5 minutes.

The phone cable as the charger cable…NEVER occurred to me ever. Lol Priceless. As the generation immediately after Boomer this makes me feel old and proud at the same time. The squawk of a dial-up internet modem is definitely a mark in history.

As a Boomer, I can tell you that we thought VCRs, CDs, DVDs, color printers (for that matter, color TVs) were the height of technology! When I bought my first GPS, I actually said a prayer of thanks to God that I wouldn’t be lost anymore 😅

One of the best movies I've seen in a while. The story, the acting, the set, the suspense and the constant glooming question who will die first because he can't handle it and in what ironic way will his internet-dependant life end.

Really enjoying the vibes the handheld brings. I know it's just to fit the horror style, but it actually sells the idea that it's shot in a real cottage (or at least a set that extends more than an inch beyond the edge of frame). I guess because even though you still stick to static shots, the looseness brought by the shakycam means the framing is still changing slightly. Also kudos to the set guru for the giant chip fork beams, very effective!

My internet was down recently and it is really chilling to realise how much of modern life relies on internet.

The lighting, or rather, lack of lighting is great for setting the horror mood and just as importantly, hiding any and all wrinkles on the Gen Z characters 😜😝😝😝😜

Once stayed somewhere in the Yorkshire Dales and had to go out the front door to get a phone signal. Felt like a smoker. This is also why I like paper OS maps!

"Anything could have happened. There could have been an apocalypse. Everybody could be dead." There's actually a movie with this premise from a couple years ago called "Save Yourselves!" It's a comedy about a young couple who take a trip to the country to disconnect from technology for a while. While they're there, an alien invasion happens, and they have no idea that it's going on.

I kept bursting into laughter, this is genuinely some of the best work in a long while lads

As a GenX I can relate to both the horror of dial-up internet, and of taking a dump when the network is down.

Very much appreciating the music straight out of a horror film. And the hats. Always the hats. Deft way of pointing out our total incompetence as a generation! Also, the hats.

Being a member of gen Z, I still feel old after watching this. I spent a good chunk of my childhood using a rotary phone on the landline, and relied on books and physical texts to get information. Now, as we had become so a custom to technology, we can find it nearly impossible to go back. (I still get my music off of a record player)
