So if his vision reaches all families the only remnant of what is the gay and lesbian community today will be bisexual or bisexual leaning men and women who present fairly typically male or female., For a doctor promoting the expanded access to trans support services to all young people for whom it would be of value to say that genital surgeries fpr those that seek them are not really about sex but about feeling whole. I wish I could talk to him and ask him to sit a miniute and consider what he just said. I assure you a young person seeking such a procedure is not seeking wholeness biodily buts socially. We have reninforced to these kids that there is a way to be a girl of a boy or a boy ifa girl and there are thousands of these kids who know that what this is is a way to not be gay to not be lesbian to be like their parents and teachers and doctors.

This is what he or others are implying at all. Trans people aren't out to change the gays and lesbians and turn them trans or whatever. Holy hell.

@@asloppyjoedonut9616 Of course the trans people aren't they are seeking to support other trans people. My point is that if we don't adress the ways in which we continue to stigmatize being gay and lesbian then early access to transition will remain a solutuion to svoid that pain and stigma for many gay and lesbian kids and their families. It may seem silly because from the outside we can say wwell being trans is harder isnt it. But that is because the youngchild isn\t seeing this as a pathway between being who they are and being a transwoman but between who they are and being a regualar girl or woman just like their firends and mom and everything else that we celbrate and honor. For families the difference they face is between trans which is socially being vocally endorced and has a clear and reliable seeming protocall with books and manuals that priomise and seem to achieve a much improoved more managable child once that protocall is initiated or wait and continue to address the complesx negative feelings seeking support but without the departmnent of justivce behiond you and over time as your child crystalizes a sense of their sexual identity at about the time they are most seelking to individualte and no one has worked very hard to figure out how to normalize the devbvelopmental experience and mile stones for these kids. That is what we end up with

Alright, I'm going to try to take this stuff you said in good faith here. I assure you, gay boys are not going to be going out, under any circumstances, and cutting off their wangs and taking hormone therapy to grow tits. Gay boys are happy with their bodies. Lesbian women are not going to be taking Testosterone, getting phalloplasty, and having their breasts removed. They just want to love who they want to love. Transgender girls and boys are a different thing entirely - and I am not sure if you are aware, but while, at least among the many transgender women that I know, there's a heavy bias to being bisexual/pansexual, there are a lot who just like girls or just like boys. Sexuality is not Gender Identity. You are conflating the two. In addition, I am a bit taken aback that you seem to feel that there is less stigma for being trans than being gay or lesbian. I again assure you that trans stigma is far worse. Gay people don't have an entire major news network dedicated to telling people that they are pedophiles who should be murdered. I understand you are worried about some things - but the things that you are worried about are not things that happen. You are worried about imaginary monsters, and are, perhaps unwittingly, repeating some very hateful untruths that are propaganda for anti-trans hate groups.
