The Civic Arena in Pittsburgh PA. They were great. Echo and the Bunnymen were awesome. Unfortunately New Order was the headliner and they were awful. Love their music but the stage production was lacking.

What a unique band with an image somewhere between sleaze, glam and new wave. I love the fusion of styles going on here!

On certain songs, they also have a bit of goth about them. Gene Loves Jezebel's track "Sweetest Thing" has a similar vibe as "Charlotte Sometimes", an early gothic tune by The Cure.

You're my guilty secret, not just a memory You're all I ever wanted, and you belong to me Listen now my angel, my love for you can't stop Though we've come to distances, love must surely spark Maybe she just cannot see me Maybe she just cannot feel They say a little bit of heartache, a little bit of heartache never hurt anyone How come I'm crying over you? If a little bit of heartache, a little bit of heartache never hurt anyone How come I'm crying over you? Your beauty has spoken, with eyes that shine My resistance crumbles, I stumble, I fall Did I ever fail you, did I lose your confidence? To me you are remarkable, what more can I say? Maybe she just cannot see me Maybe she just cannot feel They say a little bit of heartache, little bit of heartache never hurt anyone How come I'm crying over you? If a little bit of heartache, a little bit of heartache never hurt anyone How come I'm crying over you? Talk, talk, talk A little bit of heartache, little bit of heartache never hurt anyone

For all the attention the two main guys got (the Aston brothers), what really gave this band their musical kick and punch was the guitar player, bass player, and drummer. The backing music is solid on nearly every track by these guys I've heard... Heartache, Motion of Love, Over The Rooftops, Desire, it's all there.

The 80's were a very different time, about standing out not fitting in,where today you would go to hell for wearing the wrong trainers or hoodie. It was a different mindset , it was about raw talent and image and not just about talking over other artists material and face it if you took the original hook away from mush you would be left with ...nothing..I knew the band really well and toured with them, mike and jay, really nice guys and their music still stands the test of time.

Wow these comments floor me, both brothers are equal talents just because you may like one more then the other doesn't take away from their talents..also I met Jay, (Michael had already left the band) in the early 90's my best friend who was a huge GLJ fan had died in an accident..Jay was very nice, gave me free tickets to the show and backstage passes..we talked at length about everything..he was not conceited nor was he anything, but a perfect gentleman..even bought me a soda because he knew I did not drink..he did give me a sip of his long island tea..wouldn't let me keep his lighter though..kept chasing me around the lobby..actually tickled me until I gave it back.. when they returned to England..I wrote Jay thanking him for being such a great guy and asked him to give the band my love..I asked if he could give me Michaels address so I could get a signed photo..he sent me a picture signed by all of the band including Michael..told me he loved meeting me..great guy the rest of the band was great as well..Peter was very sweet and affectionate..loved them all, but sadly I have outgrown their music..moved on I guess you could say, but I did keep their autographs and concert photos aaah the memories!! I did do one naughty thing..this girl was throwing herself at Jay huge slut puppy..she shoved her camera in my hand and asked me to take a photo of them together..I smiled aimed the camera, but only had her in the frame..I offered to take the pictures for her..she was thrilled gave her more of a chance to hit on Jay..when I ran out of film from taking her picture..Jay smiled as she walked away leaned toward me and said "you should be ashamed" I said Yea I should be, but I'm not..he laughed hugged me kissed my cheek then said his byes byes..aaah yes the memories..

I totally agree with you, I met both brothers and they were great! I talked with them separately... not when the band was one. Jay kissed me on the lips and I reeled for weeks. They are unique in their own rights.

You can tell the difference in timbre between Michael and Jay's voices if you listen. Michael's seems to my ears to have a rougher edge and Jay tends to be more trebly. I like them both. This is Michael singing lead, no doubt. That's Jay on the prechorus, just like it looks. I saw them live enough times to know.
