Couldn't agree more. With everything he did for wrestling the least his "friends" could have done was show their respects

Leads me to believe that he was an asshole behind the scenes... im not saying he was... just reminds me of what happens at the end of a crappy life. Think Puff Daddy had he passed before the scandle.

Yeah, it's disgusting, especially from Vince & Hogan. Vince is a despicable human being. Couldn't care less about all the people who made him a billionaire, he think it was ALL him. Well, without those other peoples talents he'd still be trying to get by pulling off the odd stunts here & there with Eval kineval etc. And it was just downright disrespectful for Hogan not to bother showing up for it

My best friend worked at a bar and grill in Dayton Ohio. The owner of the resturant was friends with Mean Gene, Gene would stop in everytime WCW came to Dayton, I was able to meet him, Bobby Heenan, and Nick Bockwinkle, great times, great guy!

Mean Gene Okerlund - GOAT. I think it is sometimes forgotten that Mean Gene helped play a big part in WWEs success in the 80sand early 90s. Shocking that only DDP turned up to his funeral.

Surprised Hogan didn't try to take credit for the "Mean Gene" moniker. Had his pizza a couple times back in the early 2000s, it was pretty good. Would have loved to meet him and Bobby Heenan. Favorite "Mean Gene" moment was the outake when a WWF sign fell while he was interviewing Rick Rude and Heenan. His outakes are hilarious.

Still can't believe Hogan didn't make it...after all they'd been through. Or Vince even.....whatever Vince may be....he always seems sentimental about the people with him in his early days of running the company.

@@jasonkessler6841 I don't know if Tyler doesn't know that Gene Okerlund died a few years back after a very hard battle with liver failure involving at least two transplants or if he was being "smart (expletive)" about it but I agree that Gene won't get to read these comments. May Gene RIP. IIRC Jesse Ventura is still living as of early June 2024.
