The man shot and killed during an attempted catalytic converter theft in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday has been identified as actor Johnny Wactor, his family confirmed. This report aired on KTLA on May 26, 2024.

Can't shoot somebody for a theft in progress, though. Only once YOU are in grave danger. He could have pulled a gun out once THE ASSAILANT did. What is someone supposed to do in this situation? 1) Call the cops. They won’t get there in time. These crimes aren’t investigated or prosecuted, so you’re out at least $1500. 2)Intervene. You probably get shot, or knifed. So is our only choice to lie down and take it? How much longer can this situation go on, before the system breaks? We are at the edge of a Bernard Goetz moment, I fear.

My car was parked outside my mechanic's shop and was broken into, along with two other cars. This was in LA county. They broke the ignition trying to steal it. When will LA get rid of Gascon? The poor man died over a catalytic converter.
