Germany is one of the biggest markets for dubbing with one of the most professional industry branches for it, but you still end up hearing the same handful of voice actors everywhere which takes a lot of the immersion and credibility out of it. You hear this incredibly angry, passionate speech and all you think is "hold on, where do I know this voice from, is he also a Spongebob character?".

Its true as for the past 20 years a few families who are de facto giant dynasties because 1-5th cousins and such BS have gatekept the dub business strictly under their control. So their enormous extended families all get the jobs while new people are kept out of the business by them. Its a syndicate basically nowadays owned by a hand full of families which sucks a lot. Thats why I keep away from german dubs nowadays as you hear the same people in everything. Many not even sounding that fitting. Or sounding ten years older than the character they play. Especially new young attractive female voices have become rare. Same why I dont like english games because Jennifer Hale voices 50% of women in videogames. Hated her boring performance in Mass Effect and her increasingly smoker-sounding boring voice ever since then
